“Nice hotel not facing the sea”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 via mobile

Good location in MA. A small supermarket within walking distance and a walk towards the beach. I suggest you take the bus back from the beach, get off at the airplane bus stop. The hotel is not facing the sea but has a small infinity edge swimming pool facing a cute waterfall.

The service was great and the food is ok.

Second time in Costa Rica and we have stayed in six different hotels. This hotel should, according to the price being one of the better of the six. Normally, we do not stay in such expensive hotel like this. in This is clearly the worst of the hotels and not at all worth the money. We usually do not ask the staff about so much, we find out most things on our own. But since we train a lot and had our own MTB along on the trip, we wanted to get help finding a MTB guide. The staff were not at all helpful with this, called halfheartedly one call and then gave up. We quickly realized that the park is more or less a joke, therefore we wanted to be there as early as possible so that it is at all worth to go there. Therefore, we were up early, 10 minutes before breakfast really opened. This annoyed the chef so much so that he made ugly faces behind my wife's back, and then was rude to us the whole time we were there.
Stay out of Manuel Antonio, our strongest memory will be the terrible traffic and lots of people.

We stayed for 6 nights and glad we did. Our room and the hotel grounds are beautiful. We found it very relaxing to sit by the pool or just walk around the grounds looking for animals. Our family met a few other families traveling from the states and would sit around the pool in the evening sharing our stories of the day. The staff is really what made our stay special. The front desk would order take-out service for us when the restaurant was closed, offer suggestions on tours, exchange small amount dollars.. ect. However, our family found a new friend in Luis. He would always take the time to stop and ask how we were doing. We liked listening to him talk about the culture and pointing out the animals and birds to us. He taught our daughter how to make a flower out of a palm and she really enjoyed talking to him every day. She loved everything about the hotel and didn't want to leave the place. She was literally on the ground begging to stay that's how much she loved it! Be sure to say hello to Jose the sloth who lives in the tree just outside of the hotel.

We spent a wonderful week at the Falls Resort with our entire family, ranging from 5 years old to 72. The accomodations are updated and beautiful. We were in the 3-bdrm/2 bath Apartment (upstairs from the main lobby) which was perfect for our family. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Luis was our waiter for most of the visits to the restaturant and he was excellent. The banana bread at breakfast was a hit with the kids. Relaxing by the pool after a full day of activities was wonderful. The pool is a little small, but very warm water and the kids didn't have any complaints. The scenery is gorgeous and we just loved being visitied by the monkey families, birds and friendly iguanas. We will always have great memories from our stay at the Falls.

Room Tip: The Apartment has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen and living room. The is on the street side an...

This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a Trip Advisor review but, in this case, I have to.

First, let's start with the setting. No room faces the street -- each room has a view out into the lush tropical oasis of sorts that backs the hotel. VERY well maintained grounds and simply a gorgeous, peaceful setting. Just the right size and centrally located at the "peak" of the road leading to Manuel Antonio. We could barely hear the passing traffic from the main road outside of the hotel. While it could get HOT during the day (as expected) the patio fans were more than sufficient to limit that heat and I think the dense landscaping helps with that too. Word of caution for couples seeking CONSTANT quiet: the hotel offers larger, double suites for families, so be aware that you may be right next to a family with very young kids and we all know that very young kids can be a bit "excitable," which is understandable and to be expected. I would be sure to ask about that when making your reservation, if that could be a concern of yours.

Room(s) and managerial staff: My wife and I started our stay in a first floor deluxe(?) room. Comfortable bed, nicely sized (king). The only issue was that I neglected to request a second floor room, so my wife was lest than enthused about my choice because she wanted to be able to see the monkeys (haha). Anyway, I went to the front desk and inquired about moving to a higher room should one become available, which I didn't expect. Lo and behold, one did become available and we were quickly moved to that room the next morning. I forgot the names of the manager and the young man who assisted, but they were very friendly and probably saved ME from my wife's wrath because the highly anticipated monkeys visited us the next morning on our balcony and she was able to get pictures and video (whew! lol)

Wait staff and bartenders: Excellent. Just excellent service all around. Attentive and fast. Good conversation. Food was good. The free breakfast was very convenient. No more need be said.

All in all, the Falls was just what I needed in a break from my job and the hustle and bustle of the metro area.

Room Tip: be sure to request an upper level room if that is what you really want

We stopped here for just 1 night but a lovely night it was. The hotel on a busy and very touristy strip strip between Quepos and Manuel Antonio is totally first class. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable with more than adequate a/c in this hot and very humid climate. The pool while small is beautifully landscaped and is a lovely place to relax while staying cool. The bar is very near the pool and the drinks were excellent. Happy hour (2 for the price of one) makes them a super value . We were there on a Sunday and so the restaurant was closed for dinner. But the included breakfast was excellent. And while we lounged by the pool after breakfast we were viSited by a troop of Capuchin monkeys! Most entertaining. Truly a top notch hotel/ resort and reasonAbly priced. Our party all had deluxe rooms and we highly recommend them.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room on the lower level. Try for rooms 14 through 18

I stayed at the Falls in March. The grounds are beautiful and the room was romantic. We had a hammock outside on the patio which was a great way to relax at night after walking all day. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was good. The national park is a 20 min walk. If you walk in the morning or at dusk, you are apt to see lots of capuchin monkeys. The Falls is close to the beach and lots of restaurants.
