“Wonderful hotel with great staff and lovely views of the rainforest!”
Reviewed 31 May 2011

The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely appointed. Having breakfast delivered to your room each morning is a nice touch. I enjoyed eating breakfast on my balcony and being entertained by the monkeys. The kitchenette is always stocked with coffee, a necessity for me. The staff are great - Nelson, Javier and Jonathan were always available to offer advice and book tours. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. There is also a sweet little cat who hangs out in the art gallery where the reception area is located. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and wished I could have stayed longer. I hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Room #10 has a nice view of the rainforest

professional service, great location, excellant breakfast included, two resturants on site.

The moment we arrived, we were treated to a family of Squirrel monkeys. What a greating! Every morning and evening we watched in amazement them coming and going.

Javier welcomed us to Hotel Plaza Yara. Showed us our room and explained the ammenities. And was very informative of all our questions.

Every morning we were treated to fresh fruit (papaya, pineapple, bananna, watermelon), juice, yogurt and sweet bread. Delivered to you at your requested time by Katia. Who also made sure our room was in tip top shape every day.

Nelson, the on site manager, made sure we were refunded for 3 nights for an early check out. After a 6 night stay, we went to explore more of this beautiful country.

Hotel Plaza Yara is located between the city of Quepos and the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park. Which is ideal for the experience of the park and the Tico's.

To the Staff,
Thank you all for the beautiful experience.

You get room service breakfast in the morning which is way more than enough food. Also the balconies are private and I was able to catch glimpses of the monkeys! The room is very large, with a sitting area and a kitchenette area with a sink, fridge, coffee maker and microwave which is a nice perk. The bathroom is very clean and the shower has good water pressure. The front desk is very helpful and courteous and make good recommendations for food so def ask them! I would stay here again when in the area. There is a pool in the back but the beach is nearby.

The rooms are huge, very clean, and have ample chill space with couches and chairs. Beautiful bathrooms with a massive shower and a great balcony to eat your breakfast on.

Only downside was the need to taxi to Quepos or Manual Antonio, but the rides are cheap and quick. Or you could even catch the public bus which is about 50 cents USD.

Nelson is incredibly helpful as well! Thanks for a great time and amazing service.

Location: This hotel is located closer to Quepos than to Manuel Antonio National Park, so if you don't have a car you'll be spending $6 or $7 on cab fare to get there. Frankly, unless you're staying right next to the park, you'll want to cab it anyway.
The hotel is located on the second floor of a mixed-use building with a real estate agent, art gallery, and two restaurants on the first floor. It seemed a little strange at first, until we saw our...

Room: Enormous. One of the largest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Nice decor with a separate sitting area. Beautiful tile work in the bathroom. A private outdoor deck, where we ate breakfast and drank coffee every morning as we listened to birds. Quiet room. Great AC, which is a must in this Pacific climate. A kitchenette with plates and silverware, along with a separate sink, fridge, and microwave. The beds were a bit firm for our tastes, but not as firm as other places we stayed in CR.

Food: There are two private restaurants onsite - a pizza place (Pizza di Marco) and another that we didn't have time to visit (La Hacienda). The pizza place was good. Breakfast was brought directly to the room. It was technically a continental breakfast, but consisted of plenty of good food (including fresh fruit).

Service: Excellent. The staff was very kind and helpful, especially for booking tours. Front desk is manned until 9 or 10 pm.

Amenities: There is a small pool out back, though we didn't have time to visit it. Wifi was available in our room.

Value: Outstanding. What you get for the money here is pretty remarkable.

What could be better: Other than slightly softer beds (personal taste) and being a little closer to the park, nothing. Great stay.

The hotel was great, clean, quiet, and friendly. The recommendations from the staff were great. The surrounding area has some great restaurants. It is easy to take the bus to wherever you need to go. There are only a few places you can walk to as the traffic is very fast. We recommend the bus but if you want to drive outside of Manual Antonio or Quepos you will need a car. At least for a couple of days. Try to get a room with a balconey so you can east breakfast looking at the jungle.

Room Tip: Get a balconey
