“Grea hotel and Great Price.”
Reviewed 30 May 2012

We stayed for 6 nights and had a great stay. The hotel is very clean and nice. Rooms are large and have very nice bathrooms and a small kitchen area. Balconys that face the forest are really nice. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop just up the road which is very convenient for getting to the beach/national park or Quepos. I would definitely stay here again.

Living on the coast in Florida I rarely get a chance to be more that 75 feet above sea-level. Almost got a nose bleed the first day there. It was wanderful. Having traveled extensively in my career I would recommend the Plaza Yara above any Marriot . The room was PicoBelo clean. Not one thing out of place. Even the daily cleaning was impeckable!. The breakfast was wonderful. Even though there is a American style breakfast available I recommed that you try the Tico breakfast as well. Travel from the hotel was readily available at all times. 75 cents bus ride into town or Manual Antonio was well worth it. Should you need faster transportation a Taxi to town is only $6. Can't get a cheaper rollercoaster ride . I will recommend Wacky Wanda's should you get thirsty. Wandw will make sure that you aresatisfied.

The rooms are large and clean. It even included a mini kitchen. I've never seen a toilet as nicely decorated as the one in this property. The shower was the hottest in all of costa Rica. While sitting at the pool I saw a sloth move through the trees. Accross the street I found a family of howler monkeys in the tree. Breakfast was good and supervised the Havana, a kitty who lives at the property. Very helpful staff.

Room Tip: Watch across the street for moving branches. Its most likely monkeys.

We stayed just this past weekend (4/14-4/18/12) and could not have been happier. Breakfast each day was outstanding, the room was super clean, spacious, and just perfect. We spent a fair amount of time at the pool and chatted with the resident Sloth. Havana the Cat made fast friends with us after an offer of milk. I can't say enough about Nelson, Jonathan and Javier. They took such good care of us!

Thanks for making our wedding anniversary a memorable one!

Room Tip: We had room 8 and the balcony over looking the breakfast area was just right.

We stayed here for only one night, but found the hotel staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge and clean! This, by far, was the best shower anywhere in Costa Rica. We had family staying in other rooms in the hotel who said the same. We were a little disappointed to not see any monkeys, but we missed breakfast in the morning so I guess you can't win them all. I do suggest, however, that you check your sheets and any clothing left out carefully because we found a scorpion in our bed. We ended up sleeping with the lights on because we had the willies all night, but I guess when you stay in Costa Rica you have to embrace the bugs as well as the other animals. This is a great hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Yara Plaza. The rooms were huge and the staff was very nice. One negative would be the rooms near the front of the building can be pretty noisy near the road and during 7-9pm while there is live music at the nearby restaurant, La Hacienda. Try to ask for a room away from the road when you check in. Also, breakfast was great! 3 meal options, but the American meal was very good and filling. I would stay there again.
