“Ocean, beach and tropical wood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

I had a 6 hours visit to the park. Walked to the beach, Then continued to the scenic path inside the wood, with great viewpoints on the ocean and waves. Little hidden beaches on the way. Tropical wood sounds. Meeting free Iguanas. And last but not least - swim in the warm ocean in the most beautiful beach.

“GREAT wildlife sightings !!! A MUST see!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

The Manuel Antonio Nature Park & Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful attraction if you want to see the wildlife of Costa Rica. This park is totally jungle. All the wildlife are in their natural habitat with no fences or barriers. We opted to hire a private guide who was an expert in finding and educating us regarding the many animals in the park. Although the walking tour was about 2 miles, it was well worth the effort. We saw Howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, 2 toe sloths, 3 toe sloths, a few reptiles, birds, and many other species. At the end of the walking tour (which was on a paved pathway), we were greeted with a great beach and wonderful view of the ocean. If you visit Costa Rica, you MUST visit The Manuel Antonio Nature Park & Wildlife Refuge.

Our guide was great. He not only showed us the many, many animals in the

“A great glimpse of wild life & Costa Rican beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Parking advice first-parking is limited so arrive early. There are private lots near the entrance so don't go to the outskirts and walk in unless you want to walk through the little town area near Espadilla North. Parking is usually 2000 colones. Entrance fee is $10. English speaking guides are near entrance. Rates vary-we paid $10pp. They all have great telescopes that do enrich the experience and this is their livelihood. We enjoyed their guidance. We saw sloths, bats, capuchin monkeys, howlers, a rare fer de lance snake, colorful crabs, unusual grasshoppers & colorful spiders, lizards, iguanas, walking sticks, and raccoons. We highly recommend the Espadilla Sur beach-warm water, no rocks on the beach...really pleasant! Watch out for the raccoons-they will steal your lunch. Showers & flush toilets available. Make sure to sign the ranger book if you want to leave and re-enter the park.

“Amazing fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Get a guide! Worth the money. You will never see anything without the guide and will end up tired and disappointed. We were told to wait to hire a guide inside the park, but we had a huge group and negotiated a great deal. We saw lizards, howler monkeys, bats, spiders, sloths, deer, raccoons...The trail ends at a beach that looks like a movie.

“Organized park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Enjoyed this park, its wildlife and its beaches. Not crowded. Lovely. Lots of locals and all seemed to be enjoying this park. Unlike other reviews, I did not feel $10.00 entry is too much....seems very fair
