“Nice view but lack of amenities”
Reviewed 3 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

We stayed four nights at the penthouse unit at Pacifico. Although the unit was spacious with a view of the ocean, the lack of basic amenities and compound really bother me. There was no washer/dryer in the unit even though it was advertised. There was no grill on the balcony for a nice cook out. Each bathrooms with very limited shower gels, no soap, and all conditioners. And the house keepers keep leaving 6 bottles of conditioners with one shower gels thru out our stay. Really lack of common sense. There were not enough bath towels, we had to keep asking for it. There is one little pool, more like the size of a giant bathtub. You can't get to the beach without taking a bus or a little hike. One good thing, the people of Costa Rica, including the concierge/receptionist that I met, they are very friendly and helpful during my visit.

Management Response

Thank you for your comments and for your stay in the penthouse suite at Pacifico Colonial. There are 10 condominiums in total and 8 of these are equipped with a washer/dryer within the units themselves, while the 2 penthouse condominiums do not. For this reason, we offer daily, complimentary laundry service. We ask our guests to place the clothes outside their bedroom door and by the end of the day they will be returned clean to your room. You are correct that the units do not contain BBQ grills. We are sorry you were hoping for this and were disappointed. I think it would be a nice touch and perhaps something to consider in the future. Pacifico Colonial condominiums are known for their luxury, stunning ocean/sunset views, huge terraces to lounge and enjoy, a quiet pool area and wonderful service. We are sorry it did not meet all your expectations and you needed to ask for extra towels, we strive to continually offer an amazing experience to our valued guests, so once again, thank you for your comments.

I have been lucky in my life to have stayed in some beautiful places in amazing locations.
This is something else! The view feels like your are on that planet you have dreamed of ,
You know the one with mountains , deep valleys, jungle ocean views and sounds of
Life from everywhere. What is even crazier is that the room itself is as breathtaking as the
View. I will be insisting that everyone I know see this place. Both the view and the room
Are 6 stars---and I am picky. And I'm lazy---still felt that I had to write my first review
On. A view , a room and a staff that are out of this world.

“Absolutely Incredible!”
Reviewed 16 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Can't say enough, how wonderful our stay in the Pacifico South 3 bedroom condo was. The accommodations were more luxurious than described, and the views were out of this world. When a misunderstanding occurred about our early morning arrival, the ready staff went out of their way to find a way for us to be safe and comfortable until our suite was ready. The service and staff is better than first rate. From our Driver, Abraham, the Concierge Lenin, Front Desk attendant, Eileen, Night Guardsman Louis, and Manager Melissa, we were always in good hands. Really, let them take care of everything. Collectively they organized our entire stay with airport pickup and drop off, restaurant suggestions, and booking activities, which were all unforgettable. We were greeted to ocean views from our bed; monkeys, sloths, and macaws from our stunning balcony, and after a day at the beach, or walking to many delicious local eateries, or local shops, a wonderful dip in the pool capped off our full adventure filled days. This place is a gem, perfect for families or couples who want to have the best of what Manuel Antonio offers.

“Great Location and Oceanview”

This was a beautiful very large 3 bedroom condo with a 50' balcony that looked out towards the Pacific Ocean. A few mornings, we saw toucans and troops of monkeys swinging through the nearby trees. As well, there was a very large iguana who fed on the tree beside the pool.
We felt very safe staying in this condo building and the ladies working the front desk were always helpful. Martha went out of her way to line up excursions or help us with directions. We were in close walking distance of many great restaurants. Our favorites were Emilios Cafe, Kapi, Kapi and Victoria's.
The pool at the condo building is rather small, so some of the days we went over to the Mariposa Hotel and used their beautiful infinity pools. They are happy to have outside guests if you buy food and drinks while you're there. The view is amazing from this hotel!
The only negative with staying at Manuel Antonio was the maintenance issues. Someone could spend the day there getting the doors to closets doors to hang straight, stop the water leak in the ceiling of the first bedroom and fix the shower head so it doesn't spray everywhere and lastly, get the safes working. None of the 3 safes worked in our condo. It's nice to have a place to lock your passports and money.
Aside from the maintenance issues, it was a great place to stay with easy access to great restaurants, gift and grocery shopping and using the local bus. We road the bus to the beach which was a great way to travel. We felt super safe in Costa Rica, and the scenery is amazing in Manuel Antonio.

“Unexpected luxury in the middle of the rainforest”
Reviewed 6 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We were blown away by everything that we expeerienced at Pacifico Colonial. The website has nice pictures, but the condo was so much larger and more nicely appointed than we expected, while the balcony was bigger than any we had ever had in a vacation rental. Meanwhile, despite our unit being on the first floor, the slope of the hill allowed us excellent ocean and forest views. How can you beat seeing toucans and parakeets at breakfast!
As nice as the accomodations were, the service was even better. We were pleasantly surprised by the daily maid service, front desk conciege service, and assistance with tour planning, dining options, and even car rental. Thank you, Ellyn and Martha for all that you did for us! You helped our family have the best vacation ever! (Though the monkeys and river guides certainly helped too!)

We stayed at Pacifico Colonial for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The condo is clean, spacious, luxurious and have a wonderful view of the ocean. The front desk staff were very helpful, friendly, and gave us wonderful recommendtions. The condo is close to Manuel Antonio. You can take the local bus to the park or a taxicab for a few dollars. There are restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance.

When checking out we forgot one of our passports and a chunk of cash in one of the drawers. This was promptly returned to us down to the last dollar. After having heard about all the petty crimes etc in Costa Rica we were blown away by the honesty and hospitality of the staff at Pacifico Colonial. Thank you Eilyn and Martha!!

We really enjoyed the Pacifico Colonial. It is the perfect blend of comfort and luxury, with a great location. We looked at many house rentals and decided that we wanted something more convenient to town, and on one level. Pacifico Colonial offered all that, and a phenomenal view. It's nice to have secure, private parking, and a really quiet building. We had their cook prepare our breakfast every day, which was great. She also shopped for the food, and cleaned up afterwards! After researching the area, I highly recommend Pacifico Colonial.
