We stayed at San Bada for 7 nights over the New Year! We were VERY happy with our stay.
LOCATION! Right by the National Park
There were Iguanas by the pool and monkeys in the trees!
The pool and slide was fabuolous!
Renovations were going on - but SO thoughtfully! They would always stop when people walked by.
Courteous staff! Open and friendly! They did EVERYTHING above and beyond what you could expect.
The entire hotel has a feel that they are pulling together to live up to their vision - to be the best in Manuel Antonio!
The manager is around all the time.
The rooftop is Amazing (Do note, kids not allowed) - The views are unparralleded and the furniture, ambience etc much more exclusive than the rest of the hotel.
50 meters to the park.
2 minutes to the Beach.
Stanley - Hazel - and more were wonderful!
Breakfast was DELICIOUS.
Pool/Bar lunch was great!
Dinner at the restaurant was overpriced and poor. Equally, we weren't impressed with the dinner on New Years Eve. We would rather have been allowed to do our own thing - however, we recognize that the staff did their best and put on a great party.
The rooms were smallish (knew this, from Pictures)
The glass tables, especially by the pool - were often sticky and didn't get cleaned throughout the day. They took care of it immediately when I brought it to their attention, but I wish I didn't have to say anything at all.
Bathrooms were difficult - there wasn't really anywhere to hang up bathing suits and towels for a Family of 5.
Staff tried so hard to help that they got carried away with niceness - ie - when we asked if stores would be open in the town on January 1st we were told everything would be open! (which it wasn't... :))
All in all - a fantastic stay at a great hotel! We would definitely recommend it and would come back! The best part is clearly the staff - doing their best!
