“Friendly Vacation”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

What an amazing vacation with friends! There were 12 of us staying at Casa Vista Azul. It was such a different adventure. A beautiful home in a nature setting with monkeys visiting the house every day, iguanas by the pool, beautiful lush plants. It's a nature lover's dream. The accommodations were great. Esteban, our chef was fantastic, the staff was friendly and our concierge, Ricky, was very helpful. There was zip lining, boating, fishing, hiking, guided tours through the national park and surrounding attractions. A great place for family and friends who like adventure.

“Absolutely the Most Relaxing Vacation we Have ever taken”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 for a stay in November 2013

I can't say enough about Casa Vista Azul and our experience in Costa Rica. We had 10 of us and this house had plenty of room. The open air living room let you experience Costa Rica at it's finest and meet all the monkeys up close and personal. We had people ranging in age from 8-65 and Chef Esteban was able to make fantastic meals that conquered everyone's taste buds. Swimming in the rain in that beautiful full will never be forgotten. The only thing I could warn against, is wouldn't recommend for small children. The house is 5 levels and the railing wouldn't be particularly safe for little ones. Also the elevator stopped at a floor with no landing and if accidentally pressed and a child/adult walked out it could ruin your vacation. With that being said we experienced our most relaxing vacation to date at this house and woould highly recommend it. We enjoyed Costa Rica so much we have already rebooked for 2015.

“Ultimate pampering with rest and relaxation”
Reviewed 25 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We were a group of 10 ranging from 80 to 2 years old. This villa was absolutely outstanding and don't even consider staying here without including Chef Esteban. We were treated to some of the best meals I have ever experienced and I am in the hospitality industry so I get to experience a lot of good food in a lot of great places. Esteban along with Mario cooked both breakfast and dinner for all 10 of us each day and everything was so incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. He brings all the groceries for each meal he prepares and cleans everything before he leaves. We did not have to lift a finger to do anything.
The other staff around the property are wonderful-Carmen kept everything so clean each day and even did our laundry and returned it clean and folded every night. She always had a smile on her face and helped some of us-me-with our Spanish. Ricky, the host, checked in with us each day and even drove us into Quepos to get the lay of the land-and bought us a drink!
The pool area gets sun from 11-3 so it was a great place to just soak up some rays and cool off in the beautiful pool complete with a waterfall.
The top part of the villa where the main living area is has an outstanding view of the ocean and you can hear the surf at night.
We experienced 3 different monkey clans each night -they come right into the house and interact with you. They come right around cocktail hour and stay for about 15 minutes.
This was great fun for the 2 year old. We also had the privilege to have toucans fly to the trees by the villa and we finally spotted a sloth hanging from a tree. Lots of colorful butterflies and birds flying around all day. 3 rather large iguanas hang out at the pool and a jacarandi was spotted jumping from the roof into the trees.
The only down side of the whole experience was that there was construction going on at the house up the road and there was a lot of metal on metal sawing and pounding going on every day except Sunday. This wasn't the fault of anyone from Escape Villas but very disturbing all the same. Other than the construction noise-this was a perfect vacation.

“Best Group Vacation Yet”
Reviewed 6 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

My husband and I (along with 22 friends and family members) stayed at Casa Vista Azul and Casa de Las Brisas to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary. We travel as a group at least once a year and everyone thought this was the best vacation we've had together thus far! There was so much to do right at the villa but we did decide to venture out and participate in several activities. Everything was relatively close by and we enjoyed all the excursions. From horseback riding, zip lining, ATV Tours, catamaran excursion with slide and walking around Manuel Antonio National Park, this was a vacation none of us will forget!

Pros:
1. The view from the living room is AMAZING!!! You can't beat it. So peaceful to sit in the open living room and just look out at the water.

2. Watching the monkeys play on the rooftops and swing in the trees.

3. We had Chef Esteban for breakfast and both Chef Esteban and Chef Marcos together for dinner and their food was amazing. Our guests especially loved Chef Marcos' eggs in the mornings!
4. The local store will deliver whatever you need for a small fee. Food, beverages, alcohol, etc.
5. Ricky the concierge answered his phone EVERY TIME we called which was awesome. He was very helpful in setting up excursions, giving us rides to the beach a couple of times, and just being available for anything we needed. He ROCKS!
6. Working with Escape Villas to get the vacation planned. Fernando was awesome at answering questions in a timely manner and communicating.
7. The home is huge so we all felt like we had plenty of space and were not on top of each other.
8. Elevator for anyone that would have a hard time navigating all the stairs.
9. Housekeepers, you barely saw them but they kept the house immaculate AND did our laundry.
10. My husband and I stayed in the Master Bedroom and it was amazing! Very spacious, comfortable...tub is amazing.

Cons:
1. A couple of the bedrooms had a dank smell that was hard to get rid of. We made the best of it.
2. Not as close to the beach as we would have liked. Several in our group walked one day but chose to take a taxi the rest of the time.
3. Wifi was really slow and sometimes didn't work at all. But we were on vacation so we didn't let it bother us...not to mention we had the other villa as well so we would just wait until we got to the other villa where it worked better.

“Any season- THIS IS YOUR TROPICAL PERFECTION!!!”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 for a stay in June 2013

After living and traveling all over Costa Rica for two years, Vista Azul was our last vacation stop before moving back to the US. What a perfect experience!

We stayed at Vista Azul in June, which is considered the rainy season in Costa Rica. It was the perfect house and location to visit during this time of year. We were greeted by sweeping panoramic views of the ocean from all balcony levels and warm, sunny skies each morning. We spent our mornings blending fresh smoothies in the fully-equipped kitchen and then relaxing poolside next to the pool's waterfall, with monkeys and tropical birds as our spectators! There were refreshing rain showers each afternoon, which we enjoyed from the upper balcony or reading in the luxurious bedrooms. We would make short walk to the town's quaint beach or to nearby cafes to enjoy some local cuisine each evening.

Of ALL of my vacations in Costa Rica, afternoons at Vista Azul were some of my most memorable!

The architecture and interior design of the home makes you feel like you are in a one-of-a-kind museum! Architectural Digest could easily feature this home in its pages! Simply put: cozy elegance. There is so much style and functionality in the design and layout of the home. You will keep noticing those "little touches" which make Vista Azul so unique.

I would love to travel back here with my extended family and friends and share a week in paradise at this stunning villa. Experiencing Vista Azul in the rainy season made everything lush, green, and super romantic. Without a doubt- this is your place!

“Bad reviews of this place can only be attributed to 'bad travelers'!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This house was awesome. The view from the deck is surreal! To view a picture gives the impression that it was airbrushed, touched-up or staged. You have to see this to believe it... and only then will you understand what I am trying to share with you.

We had breakfast and dinner prepared each day... AWESOME!

The place is cleaned daily and they do a great job at that as well.

The only thing you may complain about it the walk up the hill to the main road. Be ready to get your exercise on!

“AWESOME HOUSE! EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!”

A group of 12 of us returned last night from a week at Casa Vista Azul in Manuel Antonio. Over the months leading up to the trip, I constantly read reviews on Vista Azul, looked for pictures and asked previous renters about their experience. I was a bit skeptical of the professional photos, but I can say, without a doubt, that NOTHING can do this house justice until you see it for yourself! It's AWESOME. It's BETTER than any of the pictures! Walking through the front door never gets old. The picturesque view of the ocean and islands off Manuel Antonio is so amazing that it looks surreal... as if you are staring at a postcard. Morning coffee and afternoon drinks in the tree house - like living room were unforgettable!

The entire house is extremely well maintained and clean. The master bedroom and bathroom take up an entire level, and are as nice as any top notch resort. The other bedrooms are also very nice, and will make you feel comfortable and sleep well every night! Everyone loved the dual sinks in most of the bathrooms! The water pressure is good, and the water is hot if you want it to be! The two rooms under the pool house have spacious balconies that look into the jungle for easy wildlife viewing. Every bedroom has AC that works very well. The elevator was great for moving luggage up and down, and for those times when you just wanted to be lazy!

The location was great. You could walk to many of the most popular spots in Manuel Antonio- Byblos, Barba Roja, El Avion to name a few.

We had daily visits- both morning and afternoon, from the capuchin monkeys. A few times they even came into the living room and put on a show! One day a group of squirrel monkeys came by and played around on the beams over the living room- it was awesome! Throughout the week, around the house, we saw tons of monkeys, birds, toucans, lizards, iguanas, a sloth, and even a jaguarundi one night (a small, wild jungle cat)! We heard a loud thump on the roof and saw the jaguarundi jump from the roof onto a tree and gracefully walk away into the jungle! It was an awesome sight!

One of our favorite areas was the pool and pool house area. We spent everyone morning and late afternoon here. The pool was one of the coolest private pools I've ever seen or been in. The waterfall completes it, and provides a soothing sound throughout the property. It's hard not to spend the entire day relaxing in and around the pool, but you HAVE to get out and explore Manuel Antonio!

The staff was the icing on the cake. Ricky, our host, was awesome. He would stop by to make sure everyone was having a good time and was a phone call away if you ever needed anything. Our housekeepers kept the entire property spotless, and even did our laundry. It was like we were staying in a hotel having our beds made every day, and our rooms cleaned and freshened up. Finally, our chef, Esteban, made our stay at Casa Vista Azul a 5 out of 5. His meals were constantly the best we had all week. Eating out was almost a let down after eating what he prepared! He cooked us breakfast and dinner almost every day and it truly was amazing! Everything he cooked was awesome. He even baked me a birthday cake! THANKS ESTEBAN AND STAFF! YOU ALL WERE AWESOME!

I really could go on and on. If you are considering Casa Vista Azul, DO IT. It has made coming back to the US so difficult! I wish I could live their! It would be absolute paradise!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!

THANK YOU CASA VISTA AZUL AND ESCAPE VILLAS!
