El Parador is Manuel Antonio’s only resort-type of a hotel! Bold statement, but it has a nice-sized main pool, two adult-only pools, spa, tennis court, mini-golf course, on-site nature trail, two restaurants, pool bar and three private dining rooms. It sits on a hilltop, with the first row seats to the Pacific Ocean. What a view!
We were lucky enough to get the Vista Suites on the third floor, and access to adult-only pool reserved just for that section of the resort. Service was great, we felt very welcomed and had zero issues with check-in, booked tours, dining or check-out. Buffet breakfast has wide variety of options, enough to keep us (a vegetarian and a very picky eater) happy. The view from the main restaurant, La Galeria is great! La Galeria also offers extensive international cuisine menu for both lunch and dinner, and the food is good and not overpriced either.
The room (Vista Suite) was cozy and spacious, with all modern amenities, including the jacuzzi tub on the balcony, separate shower and tub, big vanity mirror, coffee, mini-bar… It has great views of the ocean, and a spacious balcony.
We did the Manuel Antonio National Park tour through the hotel and had great time. Danny, our guide was very professional and very knowledgeable. He took time to show us as many animals on the trails he possibly could and was very accommodating to the whole group. We opted for staying the whole afternoon at one of the beaches at the national park and the hotel’s scheduled shuttle service worked like a charm.
The nature reserves is set in the lower part of the property and we had luck to spot a sloth chilling in the trees while we were chilling in the main adult-pool. Great experience! We also spotted some fiery billed aracari and chestnut-mandibled toucans in the tree lines just behind our room's entrance doors.
People that are looking for absolute beachfront or eco-lodges will probably won’t to go somewhere else, but everyone else can really enjoy their stay here. There is a nice, secluded beach just 15 min away from the main entrance, but the path is quite steep. Manuel Antonio is all in the hills, so this place is no exception. We stayed only two nights as our itinerary was quite ambitious, I wish we had more time to enjoy it!
