We stayed at Hotel Costa Verde #12 overlooking the adult pool and the ocean. The room was large with high ceilings and 180 degree view of the ocean. The large deck had two comfy leather chairs and from there the ocean view was amazing.
We were staying nearby in a hotel that did not have a view and so I looked on Trip Advisor and this hotel had a 2013 Certificate of Excellence. We were so grateful to have access to Trip Advisor. The hotel was only available for the Sunday, but the staff invited us to enjoy the adult pool area on Saturday, too. The bartender was new at the pool and very friendly and made some great fruit beverages for us. We didn't use room service and we didn't see a fitness area.
We would highly recommend this for a couple needed to be recharged by the beauty of this hotel.

Room Tip: We recommend paying for the ocean view and #12 is a corner unit with great views.

We stayed in the 727 with two other couples. The plane sits up in the tree canopy and is a lovely private setting. It really is a unique place to stay and they have done a magnificent job with the planes location and repurposing. It has two bedrooms each with a full bath. One of the bedrooms has two beds, the other one. The plane is completely wood siding on the walls and floors on the interior. Nice furniture, dining area and a kitchen with refrigerator and coffee pot. Lovely secluded porches with big oversized rocking chairs. We could see the monkeys in the trees and hear the howler monkeys in the mornings though they did not come down to porches or near the plane. Maybe they did when we were out and about.

There are limited views to the ocean from the decks; views of the ocean are better from the hotel rooms which face the ocean. From the 727 the trees obscure most ocean views. This means you have an excellent opportunity to see creatures in the trees. Rooms have air conditioners and ceiling fans. beds squeaked and mattresses were thin, but it added to the ambiance. We ate at the three restaurants at the property and monkey's visit the restaurants hoping for something to eat. All were good food and good quality. Restaurant staff seemed overly anxious and moved around quickly serving tables which was a bit overwhelming at times, but they were courteous. Office staff as well were kind but preoccupied and not as gracious and welcoming as other hotels like Hotel Belmar in Monteverde. Hotel Coste Verde is a lovely location near Manuel Antonio.

Property has a sparkling clean pool (closes at 10 pm).

The hotel provides no beach towels, but there are free mats to use at the gift shop entry.

We enjoyed our stay and would come back again. We also saw two sloths on evening near the parking lot hanging over the road inside the property,

I highly recommend that you plan several days at Hotel Coste Verde so you can go to Manuel Antonio National Park to visit the beaches there. The beaches are pristine and well worth the price of admission. Monkeys, raccoons, iguanas and other wildlife there. There are public beaches for free and if you like being near people, vendors selling wares, restaurants and activities you might like it better there. We preferred the National Park beaches.

Room Tip: If you come to the property you should stay in the 727 at least for one night. It is very unique an...

My wife and I ended up our 8-day self-guided tour of Costa Rica at Manuel Antonio. We were fortunate enough to catch a tail-end-of-the-green-season specials at Hotel Costa Verde. We originally booked one of the least expensive cabinas overlooking the jungle for $87/night booking directly with the hotel. Upon arrival, we were informed that we had been given a free upgrade to one of the studio apartments in Area A overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The views from this vantage point are spectacular.

The hotel is actually a series of buildings, restaurants, pools and nature walks spread out over several acres of lush mountainside property. The grounds are flush with wild life, most noticeably white-face monkeys, 3-toed sloths, iguanas and an assortment of birds. The beach and entrance to Manuel Antonio Park is roughly 1 km away (down the hill).

The studio apartment we stayed in was comfortable and practical. The unit includes a kitchenette with refrigerator, and electric range (but no microwave). The kitchen is stocked with plates, eating utensils, pots and pans. So, if a guest chooses to dine-in, there is no problem. The room itself is spacious and includes a king size bed and standard one as well. Telephone and TV are installed, and the free WI FI internet was quite fast. There is also an electronic safe. We loved the outdoor balcony which was outfitted with a table and 4 chairs. The balcony serves as sort of an outdoor living room.

The room is beginning to show signs of age, and probably should get a face lift in the near future. The cleanliness of our room was good, but not great. The staff at Costa Verde is helpful and courteous... most speak some English.

We dined at 2 of the 3 restaurants of Costa Verde. Meals were not included in our package. We dined at "La Cantina" restaurant across the street from the main office. My wife and I ordered seafood and beef dishes. Although the open, wood-fired grill filled me with anticipation. The end result was a meal lacking in flavor that needed that extra bit of zest to kick it up a notch or two. Dinner for two came to a modest $45 US. The following morning, we dined at the "Anaconda" restaurant for breakfast, and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious traditional tico breakfasts. The tab came to $17 US for two.

I recommend a stay at Costa Verde when visiting Costa Rica's Manuel Antonio Park. The package, and subsequent upgrade, made the $87/night price tag a deal that is hard to beat.

Room Tip: Pay a little more to upgrade to an efficiency apartment and enjoy the view...

I just got back from a wonderful week in Costa Rica staying in Bungalow E6 at Costa Verde. This was a trial run to see if this is where we wanted to have our wedding so we were traveling off season, and we stayed a little off the beaten path to save some money. Knowing full well that E6 was a distance from the main resort I have to say that it well exceeded my expectations. The view from the spacious deck was captivating, and our morning visits from the monkeys was the best entertainment of all! The front desk staff were all very attentive and helpful and quick to send their in-house transportation down to pick us up if we ever wanted to go anywhere within their grounds - including any restaurant they own. As anyone who has read any of these reviews knows that Isabel is absolutely amazing. She even checked in with me on her days off to know if there was anything she could help me with. I would highly recommend Costa Verde to anyone who is looking for the comforts of a resort, the luxury of million dollar views, while still feeling like you're in Costa Rica. They have found the perfect mix. We also managed to try every one of their restaurants and they were all delicious with very fare prices.

We visited during the off season and were glad we did! The rain held off for 3 days and we had the place to ourselves. The pools areas are sprinkled around the facility so not overcrowded. The staff is great and helped answer several questions we had.

The neatest part of our experience is that this hotel is built into the hill up from the beach and the wild life move up and down the hillside during the mid-afternoon. We had squirrel monkeys at the pool, toucans outside our room balcony, howler monkeys next to our stairwell, and white-faced monkeys in the parking lot.

We easily walked to restaurants and the beach. If you don't have a car you could feel isolated, but we walked to a supermarket and souvenir shops.

The rooms are massive, each with a porch, ours overlooking the ocean.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view and quick access to a pool.

Stayed in Costa Verde II Penthouse. Price was right! Room was not amazing in luxury amenities, but the view from the penthouse, staff and restaurants were! Isabel Vargus from Costa Verde coordinated our wedding for us and it was perfect and she was AMAZING!!! So helpful! The price and what we got was an amazing deal. Everything was perfect and she made sure everything went smoothly.

We felt the food at their restaurants compared tot he rest of our travels in Costa Rica were some of the best food and prices were fair.

We also LOVED the monkeys!

Room Tip: My mom stayed in the room in Costa Verde on the 1st floor that over looked the pool. Beautiful view...

We really weren't sure what to expect going to Costa Rica during the end of the rainy season so we left with our fingers crossed. WOW- Sure glad we made the trip. The weather was great (rained in the evening but not a big deal)... The resort was beautiful, the views AMAZING... I decided to upgrade our room after reading some reviews about the efficiency rooms and it was well worth it. The pool bar was closed since it was out of season but that probably saved us $ as we went to the grocery and bought our own. Had the place practically to ourselves the whole 8 days it was perfect.

Room Tip: Pick the ocean view near the adults only pool, you won't be disappointed.
