My parents have visited Costa Rica for several years and have always stayed in the same resort in Manuel Antonio. Ironically, they've never stayed at Tulemar but had heard so many positive things about it over time that they recommended my fiance (now wife) and I stay there for our honeymoon.
Long story short, we went a few weeks ago and weren't disappointed. We spent the majority of our time in the Villa Mot Mot, and enjoyed just about everything. We LOVED the fact that there was a fridge, coffee pot and "kitchen" sink in our bedroom (it helped us to eat out less) and thought that the view was phenomenal. The facilities were great as well, and the fact that Tulemar has a private beach with FREE boogie board and kayak rentals was the icing on the cake.
The thing that made Tulemar stand out most, however, was our concierge. From day one he handled just about everything -- he even bought us a bag of coffee! He was so helpful it was actually hard to get used to: if we were walking down the street and he happened to pass by, he'd always stop and ask if we needed anything. He also called every day and made sure we were OK...it was like having room service all day long! He definitely made our trip smoother and gave us all the info we needed day to day.
One thing we found lacking was the communication between our concierge and his boss. Granted, my wife and I constantly changed our plans and sometimes stayed in our place late (making it hard for them to schedule our maid service), but even still -- just about every day you could tell that the two had a hard time staying on the same page. This affected us a little here and there -- we were initially told to contact both of them if we needed anything and that quickly got confusing -- but over the course of several days, one emerged as our point of contact and he did all the coordinating with his boss. They didn't tell us that, though, so it was at times hard to know just who we were to ask what and when -- and once in a while, both of them would make different plans for us without telling the other person. In the end it didn't matter, though -- because everything always worked out and none of the communication issues ever caused anything to go wrong.
Other than that, I give Tulemar two thumbs up. We had a WONDERFUL time -- and don't worry travelers: just because its the "rainy" season in July doesn't mean that it rains all the time. It was about 5 or 6 days before we had a major rain storm, and in our 12 day honeymoon we really only had two of them that lasted more than a few minutes!
