We had a great time at Hotel Mimos while in Manuel Antonio. The proximity from the hotel to Manuel Antonio Park was awesome and the owner and his wife were as nice as could be. We had quite a few chats with them, they were so friendly and interesting. The hotel itself was a no frills kind of place but was clean, comfortable and offered some awesome surprises:
1. Setting - Came face to face with an Iguana which was awesome. The hotel is situated right across the street from a patch of rain forest where observed a Sloth. Double awesome!!! We also got to see some monkeys.
2. Amenities - Free breakfast at their restaurant. Such as welcome surprise. We could get up, walk 25 feet to have breakfast then head out to start our day. The pool and workout area were awesome.
The wait staff at the restaurant was awesome. We had some chats with our waitress who gave us great tips on places to see and talked to us about local life. The only thing that wasn't A+ here was the water pressure, but other than that I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Manuel Antonio area.

Room Tip: If you travel during a down time they will upgrade you to a Junior suite for free which is spacious...

We stayed here at the middle point in our tour of CR. we stayed for 3 night, that was enough! We were put in room 22, overlooking the pools, nice views! The room, well, old very used bedspread, not matching the curtains, not matching the pillows, not what you expect of a hotel! There was a pane of glass missing, the sink didn't seal and the shower had a mind of its own! Housekeeping didn't even clean the floors properly and there's mould in corners everywhere! The tv is ancient and we both had stiff necks as it was placed practically in the ceiling.

The "boy" serving breakfast had no service training that's for sure, there's no cereals, toaster and juices out to help yourself like every other hotel we stayed in, it's a small menu which you can only have 1 of, and if your venturing hiking or having a day at the national park, you need more than 1 piece of toast and a few slices of watermelon! The boy was extremely non commutative and I don't think we saw him smile once!

Pool bar was nice, music gets on your nerves as its never consistent and too loud for the tranquil setting this hotel could offer.

The young girl on reception was lovely, helped us with your planning and taxis etc, she's the best part of the hotel.

Summary, don't book 22 unless you want to feel like your in a hostel, take your own breakfast and don't expect clean. Overall quite disappointed!

This was the only hotel in Costa Rica where I wasn't made to feel welcome. Two young females took care of the front desk. Our room was letter "M", which we couldn't find. The other rooms are numbered. Many steps and links between the buildings. My friend went back down the stairs to ask again, and got laughed at.

The rooms weren't clean. The doors didn't latch well. The AC units worked poorly. The sheets weren't changed daily. There was one less towel than people in the room. The frig was fine, but there were no utensils, nor was there a table nearby to prep. We didn't use the microwave.

The pools were the only feature that we enjoyed.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights on our visit to the Manuel Antonio area. The staff were all very friendly, helped us arrange tours during our visit and provided us tips for exploring the area. We were able to catch the bus from/to Quepos and Manuel Antonio very easily from a stop just across the street or next door (depending on our direction of travel). The open air restaurant was peaceful (not too many other guests around while we were there) and overlooks the pool area. The food was served quickly and was appealingly presented. Our room was large and clean and included a safe, flat screen TV and air conditioning. We were, however, disappointed with the smell of the room (it was quite musty), though we are not sure this wasn't the case in other hotels in the area due to the humid conditions in the area. Turning on the air conditioning definitely helped get rid of the smell. We were also disappointed in the shower that fluctuated from scalding hot to straight cold on a regular basis, dropping pressure when the hot water disappeared. We reported the issue to the hostess, but apparently it's not an issue that could be fixed.

this was the third hotel in our 10 Adventure Tour reserved through Costa Rican Trails. Clean rooms with big comfortable beds and air-conditioning. The huge lanai opened onto the street with views of toucans in the trees. Nice pool with bar area. Take a cab down the hill to Quepos to take in the sights....and smells....of an old friendly Costa Rican town. From Manuel Antonio we took the Savegre Whitewater Rafting Tour provided by Rancho Los Tucanes and the Planet Dolphin Catamaran Afternoon Sailing and Snorkeling Tour. Both were excellent.

Room Tip: Since you can't flush toilet paper,I suggest you bring disposable wash cloths and plan your poop...

We have been here for the restaurant 2 times. We have not stayed at the hotel but next time we will.
The restaurant has one of the best service in the area. The food is very good. Have a little patience when it comes to the bill. But comparing with other places in the area, it's worth it.

We stayed at the Mimo's Hotel in Manuel Antonio and had the best experience. The rooms are very spacious, clean and inexpensive. It is a great, tranquil place, perfect for families. We also stayed in the junior suite and had 4 beds and a wonderful terrace to chill out and have coffee in the morning or hang out in the afternoon. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant is very friendly and go the extra mile to help you. My cousin and I had a great time and met great individuals and the best part of our trip was when we were leaving that morning we got to see the capuchin the little monkeys and that was the highlight of my trip! Great place to visit.
