This place is over-priced, loud and far from the beach. When the owner was asked to turn the music down at night, she was unfriendly and not accommodating. They offer a free breakfast but it is really just a piece of bread a fruit. Drinks are over-priced too. There are bugs in the rooms and they do not have the air-conditioning on when you arrive. I asked for an airport pick up and no one was there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel is very scenic. It has great views. We stayed in the Howler Hangout. It has a glass wall overlooking the trees. It seemed bigger than the other rooms and may have been why it costs quite a bit more. It was kinda pricey at $200 a night! We heard other people checking in for $150.
Monkeys would wake us up every morning right outside the room. We were traveling with a 1 year old. There are balconies and ledges everywhere. She could not be put down for a second and be safe. So although they allow kids - I would highly recommend NOT bringing them here. If you are looking for a romantic stay- this is the place!

There are 3 beaches you can get to from here. NONE of them are close. One is private and only good at low tide because it is rocky. The other two are a long walk down the road or dirt road. They say 10 minutes but be prepared for a trek more like 20!

The food here was good. I had a Mahi Mahi wrap that was delicious.

My wife and I chose the Mango Moon Hotel to celebrate our honeymoon. This hotel has a great view and even greater people. The owner Donna is super cool and was very accommodating. We bought an adventure package through the hotel that was very affordable and worth every Colon! Donna recommends only the best tours and restaurants. All you have to do is tell the staff what you would like to do and they will set up the times that work for you and transportation to that activity. The environment is very intimate and we felt as if we were the only people that mattered. The service was fantastic. If we had any question or concern at all, the staff would immediately stop whatever they were doing to help us. We indulged in their Dos Lobos restaurant and enjoyed some of the best breakfasts in Manuel Antonio. The location is an easy walk to some great restaurants, a more secluded beach, as well as the main beach in Manuel Antonio. Mango Moon's backyard is full of wildlife to include monkeys and a multitude of birds. My wife and I will be coming back to Costa Rica and plan our trip around the availability of rooms at the Mango Moon. Lastly, Donna is the owner of the furry friend we made, Manga. Again great people, great food, great view, and overall great experience.

Room Tip: The rooms vary in size and quality, however it doesn't matter as long as you have a bed. We slep...

This hotel was beautiful! It had very nice tidy rooms, my family and I stayed in the Sloth Suite and enjoyed it very much. The bathrooms were also clean. The pool was quite small but since the hotel was also small it never got to crowded. The view was breathtaking, it was right in the jungle so there were sloths and lots of monkeys in the trees. There was a full breakfast served every morning with a variety of options. The food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. The staff was amazing at Mango moon they were so helpful while we were there. There was also a restaurant with lunch and dinner. The prices were a bit pricey and there wasn't lots to choose from on the menu. But the food was still yummy, they also served drinks which were fresh and a great way to cool off. But if you went up a hill there were lots of good options of restaurants there as well to choose from. If you like going for nice walks there was a trail down to the beach. It wasn't the best but you can always take a taxi down to the beach which we did more then once. The location wasn't great because it was sort of in the middle of no where but of course, once you got there it was worth it. The mango moon was a beautiful hotel. I slept well there as well. There were maybe four, five, six suites in the mango moon hotel which was nice because then it was never to noisy or crowded. I had a relaxing experience. Mango moon overall was an amazing experience and I had such a fabulous time. If I ever come back to Costa Rica I will defiantly come back here, it made my trip.

We stayed at Mango Moon for 4 nights over the Christmas holiday. By far, the highlight of our stay was Donna, the owner, who helped with reservations, greeted us with a smile every morning and managed her small staff well. As well, the electric wires out front were a virtual animal highway in the morning: sloths, monkeys, birds. Daily breakfasts were wonderful, especially the banana pancakes. Served in the small open-air area just off from the entrance. (Dinner there one night was mediocre.) While we enjoyed our stay immensely, the consensus was that MM isn't all it could/should be. Our rooms were clean, beds were mostly comfortable and the robes were a nice touch--but there were things that seemed "overlooked". The sheets on one bed were too small and never stayed tucked. One hair dryer was broken. Don't get me wrong! We liked this hotel, but it's not a "5" when compared to other places we stayed in Costa Rica. It's got the potential to be--and we hope Donna will make that happen! Great location near Manuel Antonio and restaurants. Beautiful pool with a gorgeous view.

FYI for beach-seekers. The beach is a long, steep drive down from the hotel. It would take a hardy soul to walk it! But it's beautiful once there. The hotel provides towels.

What a great place. This hotel gives you the feeling of being someone's house guest. Great food, views and rooms. We saw more wildlife outside the hotel then in the national park. I would highly recommend getting up at sunrise to see all the activity. We also had the best food there, from the fish taco to the fresh fish caught that day. It was much better than any of the restaurants we went to in Costa Rica. Donna took care of our every need and made sure we had a good time. And not to mention the pool. What a treat to sit and relax by the pool with a fantastic view of the sea! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks Donna and all the staff for making our stay so wonderful!

Room Tip: Top floors have a great view!

it is! the small charming hotel offers you everything you may require: it is an intimate hotel surrounded by nature, birds and the funky capuchin monkeys, beautiful ocean view, nice rooms, a great and full of live host, great location and so on and so on... Try also the food, it tops all fancy restaurants available in town. We were very happy to be lucky enough to find this perfect spot in Manuel Antonio and we totally enjoy our stay there. Higly recommended!

Room Tip: Gecko suite :-)
