We loved this house. It is close to the beach and restaurants. It has all the amenities you will need. Julie has even supplied a Boogie board, cooler and beach chairs (for $10, at the beach, you can rent chairs and an umbrella for the day). The main deck has an incredible view of the beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park. You can even see the sunset from the house (do not miss the sunsets from the beach, especially the beaches near Manuel Antonio). The private outdoor shower is the best especially after the walk back from the beach or just to cool off in general. You do have to be in reasonable shape to walk up the stairs to the house or just take your time and enjoy all the plants and trees along the way. We always stopped halfway up to chat with Bismark and his family. The dogs (especially Nina, would always escort us back to the house). From the deck, we saw White faced & Squirrel monkeys, Macaws, Toucans, a sloth and other interesting birds. We did not see the Howler monkeys but you could hear them. Bismark, his family and dogs were a blessing. So helpful, so kind. We will not forget this house or Bismark and his family. The owner Julie was very helpful and made the whole experience very easy. Thanks. A few things we enjoyed: El Santuario Zip Lining, Rainmaker hike, Jungle night tour, local beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park (go early, 7:00am) and do all the trails, then hang out at the beach for the rest of the day (bring food and drinks).
The description of the house warns you about the stairs, and yes it's a good climb but it's worth the climb for the views of the ocean, Manuel Antonio Park and the backyard which is a monkey route. On our very first day, we encountered the Squirrel Monkey Group, the 2nd day, the Capuchin Monkeys and on our third day, the Howler Monkeys. Apparently the Howler Monkeys are not so easy to spot but you hear them! But we got to see them with our own naked eyes with this wonderful house! I love the lay out of this house and we fell in love with Nina the dog who loves to play with real coconuts as her ball! Bismark...we miss him so much, he is a great property Manager and a wonderful spirited human being. I cried on the plane...we stayed at the house for 10 days...so I naturally got attached to Bismark and his family and the three amazing dogs that greeted us. We also had great bird watching at the house, no sloth viewing this time but hopefully next time. I would come back here again as everything was perfect. This house reminds us of a tree house....just beautiful. I highly recommend this property, but there are stairs, so you have to be in somewhat good shape to stay here. Or just climb them once and enjoy the views and the backyard if you have too! Thank-you Julia for sharing your vacation home with us...we LOVED it and highly recommend it. I forgot to mention, this house was very cozy, a good warm feeling staying here!
