We used Tripadvisor to choose an inn in Manuel Antonio, and were not disappointed. Mike and his staff were excellent hosts, making our stay wonderful. We had an extended family of 10 who stayed at La Posada, and 3 others up the hill. Mike was gracious enough to include the family from a neighboring hotel; inviting them to breakfast and to join in the group entertainments. The setting and the accommodations are perfect. Our favorite was La Casa, since it was large enough to hold quite a few of us.

All the excellent reviews are true! My fiance and I stayed at La Posada in early November and had a brilliant time. We didn't want to leave at the end of our 4 night stay.

Mike is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble for him (for example, he went and got us our bus tickets to San Jose). All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We stayed in the Monkey Room which was spacious and spotlessly clean. We really appreciated the little touches, such as the microwaveable popcorn, coffee maker and a list of suggested places and activities in the area (restaurants, tours etc.)

Breakfast was buffet-style, with slight variations every day. You have to try the pancakes!!

As previous reviewers have said, the location right next to the park is fantastic and we had the pleasure of having deers and monkeys for company in the mornings.

Check Mike's daily suggestion board for things to do (both day and night) and book your tours through the hotel as the split their commission with you (another nice touch)!

Just got back from CR and had a great time at LaPosada. We stayed three nights (two on the way down south and one on the way back to San Jose). We stayed in the La Posada room the first time...very, very nice...newly painted, clean, nice kitchenette, comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Everyone was so friendly--Mike, Esteban, Johnathon...the ladies, too (who spoke little English, though). Breakfasts were excellent! The pancakes were the best I'd had in CR. Esteban's pizzas were great, too. The property is directly next to the park and the deer, monkeys and iguanas would come onto the property. We were able to feed the deer--so much fun. The setting was lovely and private. A group from our hotel took a guided tour of Manuel Antonio Park (take a guided tour--otherwise, it's very hard to spot the animals on your own), and that was a lot of fun. Turtle Island Beach at Manuel Antonio (accessible through the park) is absolutely beautiful--and one of the prettiest beaches I saw in CR. Had dinner one night at Agua Azul--excellent food and service. On our return from the Osa, we wanted to stay but there were no rooms available, so Mike being the nice guy that he is, put us up in "La Casa". What a huge, gorgeous spot--basically an apartment. Mike was so kind and helpful to us and he, along with everyone else, made us feel so welcomed. We met a lot of great people (guests included)--it was truly a memorable experience. It was a great value, and we highly recommend La Posada. Loraine and Mark

My husband and I recently stayed at La Posada for three nights in the Parrot Room. I did a lot of research beforehand, and am so glad we chose this hotel. All the postive comments on TA about Mike (the owner), Jonathan and Estaban are so true!! The female staff are also great - just don't remember their names. They all go above and beyond to help make your trip special.

Other than the staff, the next best thing is location. We were right next to the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Couldn't get any better than that! The breakfasts are great! The tables are set up such that you can eat privately or invite other guests to join you. It is a VERY comfortable environment! One night some of the guests and Mike went to Aqua Azul for dinner (great food) and to Byblos for drinks afterwards. It was ladies night, so all the women were able to drink for free!

While we didn't partake, I understand La Posada will let you borrow boogie boards for the ocean. Next time we will try them out!

Our time there was too short. Would absolutely love to return!

Just returned from Costa Rica and had to make sure to mention how great La Posada is. Being steps from the beach was key for our group and you are a very short walk from the public beach. We went back and forth all day. Secondly, you are literally steps from the national park. Lastly, the staff was nothing short of extraordinary. Mike does a great job and Jonathon truly became one of our group. When we needed to get somewhere or have arrangements made, he was on point ... everytime. Same with Esteban ... he doesn't speak as much English, but again, great service all around. If you are looking for great accomodations, value, and service, I would recommend La Posada.

We stayed here our first two nights on our honeymoon. We stayed in the room that was the furthest from the road (and blue). The owner was not there when we stayed, but Jonathan was awesome! He booked two trips for us - waterfall repeling and a guided tour through the park - which is literally right outside the hotel! After our guided trip through the park we changed and went to the beach for about 1/2 hour inside the park before we went on the hike to the waterfall. There was nobody in sight and it was beautiful! There was no other hotel around that was comparable!
