La posada was in an awesome location the monkeys and white tailed deer basically come up to your rooms and you can feed them crackers. It is right at the entrance to the park too. The rooms were fine nothing fancy just enough. Also there is a computer and information on the area at the desk.

Our trip was planned for the beginning of July, however, my boyfriend and I are working through a custody case for his son which he currently has sole custody of. The weekend we were supposed to stay at La Pasada was his x's supervised visitation weekend (of which he has to supervise because she is unfit to be left alone). Unfortunately since she would not switch, just to be a pain, we had to reschedule our entire vacation. La Pasada was very understanding of the situation and was able to help get us a refund and still offered to book our tours for us.....even through we would not be staying there due to no vacancy on our re-scheduled trip coming up in August. Thank you very much La Pasada and we look forward to meeting you soon.

This is the perfect place to stay in Manuel Antonio as it is quiet, personable, friendly and excellent value. We stayed after 2 weeks in various parts of Costa Rica and arrived in MA on a Saturday afternoon! It was like a culture shock with all the people, cars, market traders etc we were used to the quiet of Samara. But La Posada was perfect a wonderful location, great food, wonderful staff, fun to see the Squirrel monkeys and the visit by Bambi the deer and having the pool was perfect. We shall definitely stay there again.

Ok, After reading all the review on here I had really, really high expectations.
It's true! La Posada is really is as great as everyone says!
My husband, teenage daughter and I had such a fantastic time staying here.
Mike and his staff just make everything so easy and comfortable. The breakfasts are great. Dinner that was offered three times a week was very good too. The affordability of dinners helped us strech our budget, and more importantly, we really enjoyed the company of other guests and just the feeling of community! We even had pizza 2 nights (for about 10 bucks) and would recommend that too!
We really appreciated the free wi fi in our room (there is ever a computer in the lobby area for free use) and the free internation telephone calls were much appreciated!
The DVD collection is extensive (not sure how they had movies currently in theaters - but I'm not asking any questions) It was nice to be able to borrow a free movie at night and watch it in our bungalow!
The girls who clean the rooms and do some of the cooking work very hard and do a fantastic job! I was really worried about bugs in the room but amazingly we never saw a single one! The rooms are kept so clean with nice amenities (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, TV w/ DVD player) We even had a couple packages of cookies and microwave popcorn in our room!
Overall, the location can't be beat, service is awesome, rooms were clean and comfortable, and our stay at La Posada was just the BEST!

Came here two years ago based on Trip Advisor recommendations. I stand by everything good that was said about the place. I came back with my two 18 year olds and was still blown away by the experience. Its like staying with family that you actually like. Mike and Jonathan are the best hosts, cooks, travel agents and friends you can have on a vacation to Manuel Antonio. Don't expect luxury and pampering. Expect a good home cooked meal, arranging everything you need for activities at a discount, relaxing atmosphere with all the things you need. Close to the beach, close to restaurants, next to the National Park. Sit in your own private hammock, enjoy the small pool, play a game of fussball or sit in the dining area and meet new friends. The bad reviews are from people that are jerks and expect too much of everyone. If you are a "normal" person, this is the place for you. I will come back and stay here again. And I am the type of person that likes to experience different. This is home for me.

We stayed 2 nights at La Posada Jungle - stayed in the Surfer Bungalow and friends stayed in the Jungle Room. The rooms are very clean with AC and TV and a nice patio right outside but are on the overall small size, particularly the bathroom. However, for the price and overall location you cannot beat it. The place is rustic though - this is not a "resort" but a friendly, very clean, small motel/hotel. A small, but very picturesque pool and jacuzzi (although jacuzzi wasn't hot) and a nice outdoor eating area where a complementary breakfast is served. Was able to arrange tours of the Park thru the hotel (tours 2-3 hours for $15 per person - we had a group of 9). The La Posada is a short walk to the public beach and also to the main commercial area where there are a number of restaurants. We ate at the Marlin both nights we stayed there and was very happy with the food and service. Mike, the American owner, is very friendly and accomodating. One caution is that we organized transport to the Quepos airport thru the hotel and it ended up being thru a private car service where we were charged $5 per person for a group of 9 - I believe arranging a taxi would be cheaper. Quepos airport is only 20-25 minutes away.

My husband and I stayed here with 3 teens aged 19 for a week. We rented the Villa and it was perfect for our needs. The location of this hotel is unbeatable and within walking distance to every place in Manuel Antonio. We took the public bus (50 cents) every couple of days into Quepos and it was very easy to do. To visit Manuel Antonio Park, you literally walk out the front door. At La Posada, we saw monkeys almost every day at breakfast time and a sweet deer on some nights. One night we even saw a sloth right on the grounds of the hotel. We saw more animals here than we did any other place in MA. Mike is the owner and he will do anything you need...make reservations...calls, etc. He answers all your questions and was a really nice guy. You can tell he loves running this place and life in general. Estabon was really helpful and even went to Quepos to get our bus tickets to San Jose! He was a great cook and very down to earth when answering our many questions. Thanks for filling us in on Guaro, Estabon! The cleaning girls (sisters) always did a thorough job and believe it or not, the whole week we never had one bug in our villa! I think it was the cleanest place we've every stayed and we travel frequently.
This place is one in which I would stay again without hesitation. The staff is incredible and I'd like to see them all again. One more thing++ the computer and free phone calls to the U.S. were invaluable and our connection to home. This was one of the main reasons I chose La Posada. You will have no regrets for staying here.
