The best way to describe this place is like a neighborhood bed & breakfast. Gary and Catalina provide a place that has the relaxation and many of the amenities of a resort hotel, without the sterile and unprentious atmosphere of the big resorts. Gary will bend over backwards to make sure you have a great and relaxing time.

If youre looking for a place that will wait on you hand and foot and do everything for you, one of the many resorts in Manuel Antonio are probably a better bet for you, but if you are looking to stay at a place that you can relax, experience beautiful scenery, and meet people, or even breakfast by the pool, this is the place for you. Their staff is super helpful and willing to answer any questions you have about the area. If were ever back in Costa Rica, we will definately be back. Thank you Gary and Catalina, and hope the best for you guys!

(sorry again for the keys situation, but thank you for being so gracious and understanding with us!)

Thanks so much for your kind review. We have had a very good season and now that things have slowed down I have a chance to go back and read all these great reviews and want to thank you all for your kind words and considerations , We could not do it without you.
We had a lot of people from Colorado this year and found them all to be very enjoyable and happy go lucky lot of people . Really hope to see more Colorado in the future.

We started our Costa Rican vacation at Condotel Las Cascadas and initially were only going to stay there for one night but we loved the place so much we ended up staying 4 nights there. We would have stayed even longer if we didn't have so many other places to go!!! This was by far the most charming place I've ever stayed at and is SO much nicer than those sterilized cookie cutter hotels. This place oozed character and class and Gary and Katalina and everyone who worked there was super cool and nice. If I EVER get a chance to go back to Costa Rica, I will DEFINITELY stay with them again. Thanks for all the great memories, Gary!

This location is great because you are a short walk to the beach and Quepos. The pool was awesome and has an honor bar which is nice. Clean rooms, great service and a lot of value for the money. I plan on coming back next time I am in Costa Rica!

Our stay at Las Cascadas was excellent. My group of 10 college girls always felt welcome and at home thanks to the great family that runs the hotel. Gary gave us excellent advice about what to do in Quepos and helped make our first trip to Costa Rica a huge success!

We did not rent a car and easily were able to get all over the area cheaply thanks to the surprisingly good bus system and taxis. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from town down the hill and from there you can catch a bus (that runs every 30 mins) to the local beaches/Manuel Antonio for less than 50 US cents!

There is internet at the hotel--but it doesn't extend up to where we were staying--the Canopy Dome/suites. However the view from up there was excellent and true to what we were told there were monkeys!

Our only issue was that the hotel was sort of between maids at the time we stayed--meaning that our rooms were only cleaned once during our 8 day stay. Because of this I'd definitely suggest that you bring your own beach towels--we tried to use the hotel's pool towels but they were pretty sandy by the end of the vacation! Regardless, we were completely satisfied with our stay and our excellent treatment by the staff.

We sure missed your group after you left , You kept things pretty lively here for the time you were here and never out of order. Very nice group and we hope to see some of you again. I don't know what to say about the towels , Terribly sorry about the maid service, but there is no need to bring beach towels as they ARE provided by the hotel . We are back on track now and have a great staff working with us again. Unfortunatly AMY, you were here in the thinning out process and we had a lot of turnover in order to find the quality of staff we are accustomed to . I wished you had mentioned something while you were here , Thanks for your patience . Heres to Penn State

we had a great time at cascadas. it's located a few hundred meters outside of quepos, in a quiet little neighborhood on a hill. surroundings are very green.

nice owner and receptionist, very flexible as well. we got an upgrade due to heavy booking when we arrived. bathroom was brand new, everything was tidy and clean. breakfast on the porch was great. i'd recommend it as an alternative to hotels in the middle of quepos, as the city is quite busy and loud.

the taxi from cascadas to national park manuel antonio is something like 6 dollars. alternatively you can take the bus from quepos, which leaves like every 30 minutes and costs about 50 cent per person.
