“Laid back and quiet”

One week at Villas Mymosa in MA.
Chef is accommodating and tries hard, Solid B on the food. Prices were hard to beat for arroz con pollo. Beer inexpensive, try the local Pilsen, pretty good. Breakfast was OK, not too memorable.
The units are spacious. The terraces are big and roomy, great for relaxing and taking the in jungle environment. The place has good bones. My unit, No. 8 was not in good repair however. The bathroom had lots of rusted hardware, the stove did not work in the kitchen, and the fridge ran , 24/7, but never kept anything cold. I would say shabby chic, but that does more justice. This unit needs a few hundred bucks put into it. Just stuff that any homeowner would do themselves. It was kind if annoying. Stay away from unit 8. Otherwise, pretty good value for an increasingly expensive area.

Four of us shared a spacious, clean, wonderful suite with 2 big bedrooms, living area, huge bathroom with open-style shower, full kitchen and 2 verandas - the back one with a mountain view and hammock. We took nighttime swims under the stars in the pool and saw a sloth in the trees at night pointed out by the security guard. Breakfast was included and delicious - started every morning with a fresh fruit smoothie. Jackie and Nanna gave us great tips for excursions. Can't say enough good things about our stay here.

I am pretty tough to please as you'll see if you read my other reviews. This condo-hotel is the best kept secret in M.A. for the price. I love this place. Stayed there 15x? over the years. Considered buying the end unit 2nd floor but chickened out. There is nothing negative I can say about Mymosa. Better if you have a car, you're about halfway to the beach and halfway back to Quepos, way too far to walk to either, so without a car, you'll be cabbing it or bussing it alot.

I wish I was there right now!

Room Tip: The 1 bedrooms on the 1st floor are great for solo or a couple, but good for 4 people. The 2 bedroom...

We had unit 16 a two bedroom. It was great all the way around. Saw monkeys right across the road. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Nice pool to cool off in after a day a manuel Antonio but out of the noisy zone. The bus stop was just down the hill and we took it to quepos and to manuel Antonio. 285 colones.

We were looking for a place 1/2 way to our destination in Osa Peninsula and stayed at the Villas Mymosa. We have no negatives at all.

It is not super high end but everything was well done, breakfast was great. pool was very nice and warm, and service excellent. The rooms are very large and there's a hammock on the balcony. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We ate at the Blue Monkey just below the hotel and had a nice relaxing meal after a long day of trav...

Villas Mymosa is located just off of the main road that connects Quepos to the National Park. We stayed in one of two deluxe rooms with 2 BR, large living area, kitchen, and both a front and back balcony. Virtually everything about the place was basic but comfortable. The grounds are not much to speak of but there is a nice clean pool and we did have a family of monkeys visit us on our first morning. The restaurant/bar is small but the food was good, and the included breakfast each morning was tasty. There were few amenities (no phone, shampoo, hair dryer, paper towels, alarm clock, coffee filters) that we take for granted in US hotels. There is free Wi-Fi and cable TV. The best part was the value - we paid about half of what the high end resorts were asking for a standard 2 dbl bed hotel room. If you are looking a jungle luxury resort experience, this is definitely not the place, but if you are looking for convenience and basic comfort at a good price, this is an excellent choice.

Welcome to Costa Rica - where there are no street signs and you're going to have fun finding places! 95% of the time, our GPS knew exactly where things where. Unfortunately, We had a little difficulty finding Villas Mymosa as it wasn't in our GPS. It's close to Hotel Mono Azul (you seriously can't miss that...it's huge...then take your left up a small, uphill dirt road...it'll be immediately on your left). We ended up having to ask 3 locals.

We stayed here for one night. Immediately, the night security guard welcomed us and showed us to our room. The rooms are larger than I expected with great views.

The A/C was broken and the owner came down from his place to check it out. He apologized for the issue and gave us the room for free! Very generous. Even without that, the rates for the hotel are very good and the hotel staff are very professional.

Breakfast was delicious - the Gallo Pinto was good. The pool looked nice (we didn't use it - didn't have time) and we felt very safe. It's also a quick drive to our tour in Manuel Antonio Park.
