“Breathtaking Views”

Amazing accommodations, beautiful view and an overall amazing first experience to Costa Rica. Natalia, the concierge, was spectacular. The house comes with Tamara, who cleans daily and she was also wonderful. We loved everything about this house. Our favorite thing about Villa El Salto was the view. The master bedroom affords you the availability to see the sunrise each morning if interested. Although a/c is only available in the bedrooms which seems to be typical in Costa Rica, there was an amazing breeze every day and we kept the door open until it got buggy around 6:00 or 7:00 pm. We are a family of 6 and had two people staying with us for the entire trip and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy their vacation. I was very sad to leave and hope to stay here again one day in the future. The one negative is the road leading into the house. We had a large car and the day we arrived it was raining. We had to all get out of our car to allow for the car to make it up the driveway. It was not a problem for us - an funny story to add to our amazing adventures in Costa Rica. Although we did not need a car, we enjoyed the freedom to drive to the grocery store and Uvita Beach. So thankful for the experience!

“Amazing View! Fantastic experience. House is beautiful”

We stayed 4 nights at El Salto and I can't say enough great things about the house. The house outperforms the photos online. The patio and view are stunning. We saw lots of wildlife right in the backyard. Titi monkeys, white faced Capuchin, birds, and iguanas. Natalia the house manager was great. She is very helpful with contacts in town. Download Whatsapp. Its the easiest way of contacting people locally and everyone uses it there. Plus with the house Wifi it's free. Wifi worked great upstairs. There were 8 of us in total ranging from ages 7 to 72. The road to the house is very steep. We did not rent a car but if you do definitely get 4-wheel drive. We took a taxi to town which was not expensive. 5-$10 per trip for whole group. Natalia will help set this up. We used Carlos who is great.

Each bedroom has A/C that works well. We had no problem sleeping comfortably. There is one bedroom on the main level with the kitchen/living room/pool deck. If you have someone in the group that has trouble with stairs this was very helpful. The other bedrooms are downstairs. One bathroom has no A/C and is somewhat open with a small window to the outside. This did not bother us and we had no problems with insects or critters. The main level is upstairs and does not have A/C. Again this was not a problem. The house gets a nice breeze and you can open up the sliding glass doors. At night there are moths and other flying insects. We just closed the doors when the sun goes down. It was not uncomfortable with the fans on. There are occasional house bugs but it was not a problem. Tamara the house cleaner does a great job of keeping the house spotless. There are also some house geckos (one of whom my daughter named Fred) but it was not a problem. We used the chef service our last night and had a delicious meal at home. Cornelius and his wife are wonderful. Best grilled lobster I've had. I would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family. Enjoy the Pura Vida!

- Accommodations were beyond what we had ever dreamed.
- The home manager Natalia was amazing. She took care of every detail of our stay and was available morning and night.
- Views left us breathless.
- Open air home, but each bedroom had wonderful air conditioning.
- Geckos and little critters at night creep into the house at night because of the open air accommodations, so expect that. The kids were actually excited to see the geckos each night.
- Peaceful at all times of day.
- Cleaning staff kept our clothes washed and the home spotless.

*The directions we were provided to travel from Quepos to the home were horrible, so be careful.

Hi Tiffany, Thank you for taking time to write a review. I will look into ways of improving the directions which is not always easy as there are not many road signs.

“Wake Up in Paradise”

Our family of five stayed here over New Year's week and it is even more spectacular in person than in the photos. We spent much time outside taking in the view, and enjoying the wildlife. We saw squirrel monkeys, macaws, and toucans. Our housekeeper was excellent as was the house manager, who arranged to meet us with dinner and groceries after our flight was delayed by six hours. She helped arrange outings, including a wonderful horseback ride through the countryside which included a dip in a waterfall and lunch at a local restaurant. The house is amply equipped and had plenty of hot water for all our showers. It was truly a vacation in paradise. I highly recommend Casa El Salto.

“Wonderful place to stay in Manuel Antonio”
Reviewed 12 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. It was hard to leave the infinity pool each day for excursions, but they were fun, too. Natalie, the house manager, had great suggestions for excursions and for the best beaches for our family (no big waves for the youngest one). The location was great, but I agree that a car was necessary, and the driving wasn't that difficult (unlike San Jose!). Use the grocery store in Quepos and do some cooking at the house, which is fully equipped. We did have a few ladies come in and cook a big meal for us, and it was delicious. Also, the daily maid service was great, and the pool was well maintained. Surprisingly, there were no bugs or mosquitos (the 'dry' season?). At times the morning sun was a bit warm upstairs, but the afternoon breezes cooled us off. It appears to be typical of Costa Rica that only the bedrooms are air conditioned (and they can get cold!). One suggestion. Add some closet storage to the fourth bedroom (the separate one by the pool). Otherwise, we loved this house and would rent it again and again. It pleased both the young and the seniors in our group.

If you are traveling to the Manuel Antonio / Quepos area, you would do yourself well to consider this location. The home is quite remarkable...sort of Frank Lloyd Wright meets modern meets Costa Rica. People use the phrase, "Room with a view"...this is more like "house with a view". Exceptional views both interior and exterior. Everyone in our group of 7 was impressed.

The owner, Olivier, was quick in terms of response and when an error was made on our end, he worked rapidly to help us correct it which he did not need to do (and cost him $). Natalia, the manager, was very pleasant and met us with cold drinks and an great bowl of fresh ceviche which was perfect after the ride from San Jose. The orientation to the house was very helpful and almost every amenity one would need was on site.

We have rented homes where you see staff one or two times per week OR the day you depart. Not here...each morning the towels were laundered, dishes washed, home cleaned, and more.

As noted with the reviews, the location is spectacular. It is in a neighborhood filled with mega homes that importantly, one can only enter into after passing a security gate that is manned 24/7. The sun rises early (at least this time of year) to remarkable sunsets orchestrated with sounds of countless birds. Sitting by the pool, with a cup of coffee, makes it very special.

Believing in honest reviews, we will note there were a few minor facets that were negative in a minimal way. First, the wireless internet only works at the upper level (not the lower, where the bedrooms are). Second, to dry clothes, you need to turn the AC units off. Third, to keep the upper level cool (which unlike the lower level has no AC), you need to open the wall of sliding doors...which does allow an ample supply of bugs in (makes you wonder if screens are a possibility). However, in sharing these, please do not take them as major nor reasons not to choose this otherwise 10/10 place.

Our favorite part of the house was the outside. Indeed, the infinity pool may be the best part of the house. Finally, location...again, just great. Half way between Quepos and Manuel Antonio so matter what needs outside the property one would direction, it is 5 only minutes away in either direction.

If we were to return again, this would be the place we would love to stay at.

“BEST HOUSE EVER!!!!”

I actually cried when I first saw the view. This was our fourth visit to Costa Rica but we always had a beach view...and now I will never be satisfied without watching the sun rise over the mountains the way I did each morning of our stay at Villa El Salto. Everything about this house and our week there was perfect. We have been renting homes for our vacations for 5 years and this one is by far our favorite. The location is perfect. All we heard was the sounds of the birds and the monkeys. We saw more wildlife then our 3 other visits put together. Our favorites were the visits from the adorable squirrel monkeys each morning and an amazing encounter with a huge curious flock of scarlet mcaws while going for a walk near the house.
Natalia was so helpful the entire time and having someone clean and do laundry each day was such a huge bonus for us.
I really can't say enough how perfect the entire week was for our two families of 4 adults and 5 children!!!
