Three families with six adults and seven children in our group stayed at Casa Bella Vista after Christmas and through the first week of the 2018 new year. We were taken care of entirely throughout the process by everyone we dealt with. The views from the home are breathtaking and the staff is hardworking and professional in every way. Our time at the house was relaxing as the housekeeper and groundskeeper took care of most everything. We also opted to use the recommended chef for dinners during our stay and Lili was truly amazing. By the end of our stay she felt like family and we were so thankful to have been able to enjoy her incredible creations tailored to accommodate some of our kids fickle eating habits. The gem of the property is the wildlife which Javier the groundskeeper is always on the look out for. During our stay we saw and fed multiple types of monkeys. We also saw sloths, toucans, butterflies, iguanas and geckos. Ground transportation for all of our excursions was included in everything we did so there was never a worry about how to move our large party. There is a bank with an ATM that dispenses US currency, pharmacy, small grocery store and multiple restaurants and shops within walking distance from the house. As for safety, the house sits off the street up a driveway behind a gate that is opened remotely my the groundskeeper. At no time during our stay did anyone feel unsafe. Even walking at night to the store felt completely safe. On our last day at the beach, my son told me that this was the best vacation ever and I would have to agree. The people of Costa Rica are friendly and helpful and most that we came across were able to communicate in English. Thank you to everyone that made this trip amazing. A couple of notes for full disclosure: we drank tap water everywhere we went including the house and no one fell ill. The sewer systems are like in Mexico and you cannot flush your toilet paper so anything you wipe with goes in the trash can by the toilet, but Dixie emptied those twice daily. Lastly there are bugs. You’re living in a house in the jungle. Doors and windows are often open and there were lizards and butterflies and other insects in the house constantly but it was not intrusive or overwhelming. The house manager and team are very eco oriented and don’t use pesticides to spray the house. It would probably be impossible to keep all bugs out even if they did spray and part of what attracts the wildlife of course is the bugs so it’s just a thing you have to deal with. All of that being said it was still hands down the best vacation ever. Thanks again Costa Rica for your hospitality.
A group of 13 people (6 adults, 7 kids) took a trip to Costa Rica and stayed 9 nights at the Casa Bella Vista. It was a trip of a lifetime. Everything at the house was beyond expectations. The house manager was very welcoming and hospitable. Javier is the grounds person who stayed onsite. He was very helpful, whenever the kids lost their ball over the edge, he was quick to retrieve it. He would also inform us of any wildlife sightings. There were 3 species of monkeys that would come onto the property daily, which was especially exciting for us all. There were also sightings of toucans, sloths, iguanas, and geckos. Then there was Dixie, the housekeeper. She was great about straightening up the house including doing our laundry everyday! And finally, my favorite, was Lili, the in-house chef. Not only was she a phenomenal chef, but she was so personable and allowed us all to accompany her in the kitchen while she cooked. I know I personally enjoyed her stories and company. Through and through this was a vacation to remember for a lifetime. And I hadn't even mentioned any of the activities we did. That's a whole other story!
Casa Bella Vista is stunning and boasts the best views in Manuel Antonio. Amazing experience! Everything was superb from the initial inquiry with Chrisi to our departure after a 9 day stay. Sani, the House Manager, is a gracious host who attended to every detail from our airport transportation to all of our activities and excursions. He personally accompanied us on our excursions to be sure that everything went perfectly and he only recommends the most reputable people. We took all of his recommendations and were never disappointed! He recommended Lili as our in-home Chef who had a beautiful meal prepared for us upon our arrival after a long day of travel. She also assisted in providing a surprise birthday dinner celebration that was absolutely delicious. Javier was always available to us not only maintaining the home but also showing us the local wildlife including different varieties of monkeys, sloth, iguanas, and beautiful birds. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that Dixie would be joining us daily to care for the home including laundry, allowing us time to completely relax and connect as a family. When we rented Casa Bella Vista we knew we were renting a beautiful home. What we didn't know was that one of the highlights of our vacation would be the outstanding Casa Bella Vista team.
