“VERY cool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

We got to the waterfall by horseback. It's a bit of a trek on foot to get there but well worth it. The water is cold (or refreshing) depending on what you're used to. Bring water shoes as there are rocks that can be a bit sharp. Take a swim near the waterfall and make sure you bring your camera. Worth the trip. In case your guides don't tell you, bring a bathing suit and/or clothes you don't mind being wet in.

“excellent”

This off the beaten path waterfall was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. After an interesting drive to get there we were treated to very nice mountain stream hike. The climax was reaching the end and finding the most amazing waterfall!

“Really Closed”

Just got back from CR. The waterfall is closed. Hotel staff was pretty sure that it is closed for good and they felt that is was very dangerous.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2013

I did this hike before the earthquake, so make sure it's safe now, but it was fantastic! Not for the unbalanced, the hike is filled with wet rocks you have to walk over. It was not crowded and the water was cool after the hike to get there.

“Take care”

Didn't actually do the trip as advised by hotel staff not to. Stories on someone dying are true and there are loose rocks etc. until someone posts someone to say that these rocks have been somehow cleared it just shouldn't be visited. I would suggest that however oversees the waterfall posts something once they think it is safe?
