“probably my best snapper ever...with nice view and good service...whatelse?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

We arrived yesterday evening at Montezuma and our first diner was at Moctezuma...the next one will be definitely there as well.
The waiter was lovely and helpfull. As he suggested to us we got the snapper. It was fresh, cooked perfectly
all the menu look fantastic (unfortunately i m not staying long time enough to try everything)
definitely a good adress maybe a bit expensive for a backpackers budget but if you get a chance go there you can eat great food not much more expensive than anywherelse in town

“Fantastic snapper”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

Catch of the day: grilled whole red snapper with hot vegetables, rice and mashed potatoes. So much flavor. No words for it!

“Watching the sunset from your table with a caipirinha in hand just can't be beat.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

This place is hard to miss - make a right at the end of Montezuma's main strip, walk to the end of the pavement, and it will be waiting for you on the left. We sat at a table toward the back which had a gorgeous view of the shore and sea (which the restaurant is practically on top of). The caipirinha was made with care and utterly delicious on a warm dry season day. The mussels and ceviche we ordered as appetizers were fresh and tasty, as was our main fish entree which was served with spinach, rice, and additional fresh veggies. There is free wifi here as well.

“Great food in Montezuma”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

We enjoyed several great meals here - mega sandwiches, shared at lunchtime, and steak at night. Just the place to eat after a cheeky wee beerio in Chico's!

“Amazing View of Montezuma Bay!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

We did not eat here because I read the reviews in advance, but we did stop in for drinks several times during our stay in Montezuma. The view is spectacular and the location next to the bay is awesome. We enjoyed ourselves at the bar each time we stopped in. Just DO NOT swim in the bay. I found this article while researching Montezuma. And sure enough we did not see any locals swimming in the bay. Only fair skinned tourists.

Article: Montezuma’s small bay can be polluted. Some of the houses and businesses in town dump their sewage right into the small stream that runs into the bay. During rainy season, septic tanks overflow or stop working well when the ground is saturated, adding to the mess. You’ll see people swimming and even fishing here, but I really don’t recommend it. This is Montezuma’s dirty little secret… the prettiest beach in the center of town can be dangerous, and you will rarely, if ever, see any foreigner who lives in Montezuma swimming there, because we all know what’s up. Why is this happening? Don’t ask… we’ve been asking for years, but unfortunately the government hasn’t done anything about it. If you want to swim or fish, go to the beach on the other side of town, or walk down to playa las manchas, 20 minutes to the south.
