This hotel is a bit out of the way from the town of Puerto Jimenez and a local told me that it often gets overlooked. But it is a great place, and definitely should get more business! If you're coming in Puerto Jimenez I highly recommend this hotel. My family stayed here on the way to Carate, so we were really only passing through, but it still made an impression. It was inexpensive but the rooms were very nice and very clean. Also, the A/C and a fridge in each room are great. We got there at 4 in the afternoon and immediately went swimming in the nice little pool during a light rain. It was fantastic! The grounds are beautiful too. There is a bar and restaurant there too, which we did not get to try because it was closed for Green Season. We were the only people there, which was fun, but this hotel deserves to be busy.

Room Tip: The are all very nice, clean, and spacious

My husband and I stayed at Las Islas for 2 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Helen was very nice and helpful...she arranged our trip to Corcovado and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Since we had to leave for our tour at the crack of dawn and we would miss the breakfast, Helen made us sandwiches to take with us along the tour. Ham and cheese sandwiches with some fruit and juice. What a nice tough.

The rooms or really cabins are very nice and large. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. Each room has a small fridge so that you can bring back left overs from the night before or buy groceries at the local store. We would definitely return to Las Islas on our next trip to PJ.

We were going to visit Corcovado and couldn't decide were we would stay in Puerto Jimenez. We were going to stay some place else, until a colleague that works with my wife told us about Las Islas. Was I ever glad we took his advice!

Maria and Helen helped us book our reservations for the park, flight and contacted our guide Juan Carlos. They took care of everything for us and everything went so smoothly. Thank you!

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the center of town. Helen gave the goods on where to eat and what to see. The property is so beautiful, it is very well taken care of lots of trees, plenty of birds. Helen always went out of her way to make sure that we were well taken care of.

Breakfast was included and was very good! Our cabana was tucked away in the lush trees. It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, hot water, had a mini fridge. They also have a very nice pool to cool off(it is very hot & humid) just what we were looking for!

We will be returning next year to Puerto Jimenez and we are so looking forward to staying here again!

Maria, Helen and Oscar

Thank you for a wonder experience,

If you are looking for a place to stay in Puerto Jimenez, this is the place!

Las Islas is the perfect example of what travelers expect when they are abroad. Whether first timers (as we were). Or just passing through, Oscar, Maria, Helen and the rest of the staff will ensure your time with them is as comfortable and worry-free as your own home. The quaint setting and immaculate accommodations blend perfectly with the natural beauty and wildlife that makes the Osa Penninsula so amazing.
The fishing...Oscar and Tony are true professionals, and are excited to share their passion with you. When he says full day charter, he means full day. They love to chase trophy fish, and are the best in the business. Can't wait to go back. We definitely made friends for life.

My lovely wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at Las Islas Lodge in December. It was our first trip to Costa Rica, and our Osa adventure was made perfect by our stay at Las Islas.

The grounds were well kept, and our cabin (with AC, tiled bathroom, hammock, mini-fridge) was fabulous. Without a doubt, though, it was Hellen who really made our time at Las Islas special. She attended to every detail: providing excellent recommendations and answers to our questions; booking an amazing rainforest hike and horseback ride; helping us place delicious dinner orders for delivery; and even special touches, like making us non-alcoholic anniversary drinks and serving us special Costa Rican tamales for our first breakfast. Service is an art, and Hellen is indeed a master.

My wife and I prefer authentic people and experiences to posh luxury. When we explained to folks in and around San Jose that we were going to the Osa, and to Puerto Jimenez, we were told more than once that we were going to "the REAL Costa Rica." If you're like us, and like the growing number of enthusiastic reviewers here, I think Las Islas Lodge will suit you quite nicely. La Pura Vida is alive and well at Las Islas!

Room Tip: We enjoyed being in the back of the lush and well-maintained property.

My husband and I and my Nephew and his wife stayed at las Islas for seven nights. It was great! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are so beautiful. There are all kinds of birds and monkeys around. Everyone there was so willing to help with everything that we needed. Helen is so nice and she takes great care of you. Oscar and his family are so good. We went fishing 4 days with Oscar and Tony. We had a great time. We caught giant fish. My husband caught a 100 pound Rooster fish. It even made the newspaper there. And they cooked the giant dorado that Jamie (my nephew) caught and we all ate it together with Helen and Oscars family, like family style. The whole meal was delicious. Oscar knows how to fish! We feel like we made great friends. We will be going back! Thanks again Helen we will miss you. We will miss everyone.

My girlfriend and I had a great seven day stay at Las Islas Lodge. The staff (specially Helen) went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and worry free. They helped us fine the best food in town and made sure all our activities where kept on schedule. Housekeeping does a tremendous job keeping the cabanas clean. They are a great place to relax after a long day of hiking, kayaking, and zip lining. The hammock on the porch is the perfect touch and the pool is a great way to cool off after a long day of activities. The hotel is just on the outskirts of town so we rented bikes ($5/bike/day) for the week and burning the extra calories made eating the local cuisine guilt free. The complementary breakfast is a great way to start the day. Side note: the airline had misdirected my luggage and the staff at Las Islas made sure I got it as quickly as possible and seemed genuinely concerned about the situation. Thank you Las Islas Lodge for making our stay in Puerto Jimenez a great and unforgettable experience.
