“Great staff, good times.”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

Stayed in one of the dorm rooms, it was clean enough and although it's hot in there during the day it cools down nicely at night. Lots of comfy futon couches on the porches. Kitchen is pretty well-stocked, and the common area has games and things like that to do in the evenings. Its a quick taxi ride into town if you don't want to make the walk at night, and the bus will stop right at the hostel to take you to Manuel Antonio. Staff that were there at the time were great - really fun, helpful, and down to hang out.

Maybe I'm getting too comfortable with certain amenities... A/C and separate beds. We had a bunk bed configuration and between the heat and bed shifting when either of us moved I didn't get much sleep. However it was a good price, included breakfast and everyone was really nice.

I stayed here for just over a week and I have to say it really is a great place to stay if you are looking for easy access to either Quepos or Manuel Antonio. The owner Miriam really knows how to run a place like this and the staff are always helpful and eager to assist in any way that they can, especially Wieleke, who really strives to create a friendly and helpful environment, and will go the extra mile to assist. They offer a breakfast for a couple of extra dollars with lovely fresh fruit, fresh bread and coffee. The vibe is great there and it seems to attract like-minded guests who like to socialise and mix but without creating that 'party hostel' scene which can be too much. All in all, a great place!

I actually stayed 2 times in this hostel. The first time I stayed almost a week and the second time even longer just because I liked the first time so much. The staff (Miriam and Caleb) were super friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome.
The rooms and the rest of the hostel were always clean. Also I loved using their kitchen.
It was fully equipped, enough space and very clean. The common area is a perfect place to chill out or meet other people in the hostel, which is great if you are traveling by yourself.
The hostel is close to Quepos so you can just walk from the hostel instead of taking buses or taxis all the time. I never felt unsafe! Also it was very easy to go to the beach and national park, since the bus stop is right in front of the hostel. If I ever go back to Costa Rica, i will definitely stay at this hostel again!

Pura Vida was a great stay all around--clean, social, and located right by Quepos, which lets you walk to the local restaurants & clubs (shoutout to Republik) whenever you want. Wieleka & Caleb, who work at the hostel, are good folk. $12 for my 6-bed room, and breakfast was the best I've had in a while. Glad I stayed here.

I just arrived at night in the middle of a storm.
The staff just recieved with a smile, they took my backpack and take it to my room, also they offer me a towel. few minutes later they just invited to go out with all the guest and the staff to a dance club.
The rooms are completely clean.
Something that I like very much was the kitchen, they have every thing that you need and every thing has a place, always clean.
They also offer special nights with beautiful lightning storm ;)
