“Heavenly food for sure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

If you are ever in Quepos, DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE. It may not look all fancy, but the food is better than 99% of the places I ate at and so cheap! All typical Tico food and so many choices that no matter how picky you are, you WILL love half of the stuff on the buffet. It's like eating my mama's cooking and most restaurants can't beat mama's cooking!

“Tico food and smiles in Quepos, Costa Rica”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

There are different categories of 5-star restaurants, and this one is in the category of "unpretentious restaurant with traditional food." We just happened on it, but knew it was a treasure when the owner smiled and welcomed us. She and her husband are so genuinely friendly that who cares what the food is like? But...the food is really good. They've come a long ways since they sold lunches out of a cart in Manuel Antonio, but they haven't forgotten their roots and how grateful they are to God for the blessing of having now moved into a "real" restaurant. Buffet style, Enough choices that anyone can come away happy. Local atmosphere that is clean and comfortable. They've been picked as the best Tico restaurant in Quepos two years in a row. We'll go back there when we're in town. Be sure to try the Agua de Sapo (Frog Water) drink when you're there. They are proud of their Caribbean heritage and this is part of it.

“Great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2013

We have been here a few times, mostly locals so you know the food is good. Owners very friendly and you get a big plate of food for very little money. If you are on a tight budget this is a good place to fill up. You also get to pick and choose what you would like. Well worth a stop in.

“Typical food”

Good place for breakfast and lunch, buffet style and the place is so rustic, prices are decent and the place is always full; that says much about the place

“Best of the Local Restaurants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2012

This is the best of all the local restaurants in Quepos. Not only is the food excellent, and the portions huge, but they have the most diversity in what they offer each day. A real sign of how good the food is, is how many Ticos eat there and the place is always packed. Only open for breakfast and lunch, so don't get your heart set on dining there.
