We stopped over for a late breakfast and, we had hoped, some nice scones and dessert. Although there were more staff than customers, the eggs we had asked for never came. Also, their famous desert was frozen and their scones sub-par. It is cozy but with such service and normal food that was not enough.

This is close to the Hotel Beacon in the middle of Escazú. Great desserts! I also like supporting it because I know her employees love her.

Robin has a way with desserts, matched only by her delicious quiches, delicate salads, rich lasagnas, and special ginger carrot soup.
If you find yourself in the suburb of Escazu(twenty minutes from downtown San Jose) this is the perfect place for a quite, restful, gourmet lunch.

When in Escazu centro, across from the Beacon Hotel, try Robin's great coffee shop for fresh baked goods or lunch. I love the scones! But, she also has pies, cakes, lemon squares, cookies and more. Yum!

A small but charming, relaxed place for breakfast (open from 8 a.m.), morning coffee and cookie or lunch. Robin bakes sinfully delicious cakes and cookies and the smallish lunch menu includes quiches, chicken curry with mango chutney, brown rice, salad, panini and salads plus several other dishes. With fruit juice and coffee, lunch comes in around ¢6000. It's right in Escazu so ideal for visitors staying in one of the B&Bs or locals. Our girls' lunch bunch have just about made it the headquarters for our weekly lunches. Robin will also cater your parties and bakes cakes and pies to order: 2228-3407, or email: lacocinaderobin@hotmail.com. You can hook up to Wi-Fi, and Robin often offers specials.
