Samurai has been around for a while, though it has moved a few times. I've been going for years, and the sushi and teppanyaki dishes are very good. They have a variety of options, and some fun rolls (try Tropical Roll with mango and shrimp- love it!). Service is friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is elegant- works well for business meetings, as well as dates. Prices are on the high end (20.000 colones for two rolls, edamame, a drink and a glass of wine) with a roll at around 7.000 ($12). I'd pick Samurai if you want the teppanyaki show, or if you're going with a larger group. For a more modern, late night place I'd try Nau and for casual japanese Muro-ji.

love the food EVERYTIME . this time I tried the spicy tuna dynamite roll and the tropical roll...both fantastic.
The miso soup was perfect and hit the spot.
The seaweed salad was fresh absolutely perfect.
I have to say we always have a good dinner when we stop here.

great spot in the plaza itzkazu shopping center.....my favorite thing to do in san jose area is to go to samurai for a spicy tuna roll with masago with a bavaria negra, and then head right over to the jazz cafe for live music.....at samurai, ur bill will run about $12 for the roll and beer......some great fusion rolls too but a bit pricy

If you can get past the price tag this is well worth a stop. I love good sushi and they deliver. Located in the very trendy itzkatzu Plaza, more or less a mall of restaurants, this small addition has been serving up good sushi for years.

The Rolls themselves are quite large, not 6 pieces, not 8, but 10 piece rolls await your dining experience.

All in all they lose a star only on the pricetag but like I said, if you can get past that, go for it.
Cheers
