We have been home for over a week and we are still talking about the wonderful service that we received at the Marriott Courtyard Escazu! We planned a last-minute trip over the holidays to San Jose to visit family and enjoy the many sites outside of San Jose. Arriving with virtually no plans, the front desk evening attendant Griselle handled all of our tour reservations. She did an amazing job! She truly embodied service with a smile! We advised her what were interested in doing and she happily went out of her way to explore all alternatives and book the tours for us. I highly recommend this since driving in San Jose is challenging and driving to the outskirts can be treacherous with many winding roads which are not always in the best conditions! For tours where Griselle knew we would need towels, she had these packed and waiting for us in the morning before we left. I cannot say enough about the outstanding service we received there!
The rooms themselves are rather large and well appointed well all I don't see expected amenities provided in the courtyard. There are various restaurants and a large upscale multi plaza shopping center less than a quarter mile from the hotel. We made this hotel our central hub and returned here daily to see family in the area. It was well situated and there were plenty of tours to zip lining in San Ramon which are great highly recommend about an hour and a half away, White water raft thing in Rio Pacuare, La Paz Waterfall also an hour and a half away. We also went to the Arenal volcano and the natural thermal waters of Tabacon. All beautiful memorable experiences for us and our sons ages 15 through 22 arranged by Griselle! Thank you again for you for exceeding our expectations!

I have stayed here before and it was ok but this time I felt it was lacking lots of things. To start I had to go three times to the reception as the key they gave me didn't work, my son wanted to draw and we didn't have any paper so we took him to the reception for a white paper and we were told that they don't have any!? Called to ask for a tooth brush and the person at the reception didn't know if they had any told me she was going to call me back and never did, when I called again they said didn't have it as an amenity or at their shop for sale, and last (I hope as I'm still here) the beds didn't have comforters, only a sheet and a light (sheet like) cover, it's very windy and cold so at 12:30 at night we had to call to ask for blankets ( none were found in the closet) isn't that a basic thing to have at a hotel room?
Location is good but there's at least 4 other options within a short distance, won't be staying here anymore.

This hotel definitely has it all.....The best Staff, the best location, a beautiful
restaurant and bar area where they offer an extensive and delicious buffet
breakfast and dinner and a full menu of luncheon specials. The location is
incredible - especially for those who have never been to Costa Rica before and
their desire is to be close to all kinds of shopping, a variety of restaurants where
they offer every type of cusine. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated and
the maid service for room cleaning or whatever your needs may be is "right on"
in terms of immediately answering your request or satisfying your amenity needs
in your rooms. There is a lovely pool and beautiful backyard area to enjoy sun-
bathing, swimming, or just relaxing. There is a Conference Room for business
meetings, a Gym area for excersizing, many TV screens available throughout
the Lobby and Restaurant areas so you can keep up with your favorite sports or
watch a day or evening program that you don't want to miss while on vacation.
And very close by is one of the biggest and beautiful shopping Malls in Costa
Rica, and believe it or not - this hotel offers a free taxi ride over to the Mall
and when you are finished shopping, just a call to the hotel will send a taxi cab
back to pick you up and would you believe - you only pay a small fee for the
return trip to the hotel. There is absolutely nothing you could find to complain about
at this Marriott Courtyard - so if the wonderful things I have just described are
what you want on your next or even your first trip to Costa Rica, where you find
everything your heart desires and at a very affordable price - do yourself a favor
and book your trip to this hotel.

Room tip: I am only familiar with my room (212) and it was a perfect location, right near the elevator

Great little hotel. I've been with Marriott for many years and this is a great one. In particular the staff go out of their way to ensure you get great service and enjoy your stay with them. We had a nice suite on the fourth floor. Shame some of the highway noise seeps through, but very good room, room service and housekeeping. And so close to the MultiPlaza mall with all of its shops, restaurants and amenities. Absolutely recommended for your San Jose city visit.

Room tip: Facing into the plaza is probably a better choice as some highway noise does seep through a little.

We had a great visit at the Courtyard San Jose Escazu! We were a huge family group of 11 people and the staff at Escazu were so wonderful and helpful, they always went out of their way to sit us together at breakfast (which was Delish!) and make sure we were happy. I would definitely stay there again, it is conveniently located next to a plaza with several restaurants/shops- though note that it is not at all in downtown San Jose. Special shout out to Fanny and Sheila who took great care of us at so many meals!
