I have been to Henry's twice since they have opened their new location here in Los Yoses and both times have been TERRIBLE! The first time we had went they had only been open for 2 weeks so I thought our BAD experience was only because the restaurant just opened up. Unfortunately, after my second visit to Henry's(Los Yoses) it's VERY clear they haven't improved anything...
The first time we went to Henry's they were advertising NFL Football Promos for food and drinks. Once we arrived we requested a certain football game on the TV and the manager informed us Henry's "Sports Bar" did not Subscribe to Direct TV satellite channels or the NFL Ticket Package. Henry's "Sports Bar" only has SKY Satellite channels which does not air NFL games... Ahhhhhhhhh..... OK..... Well, it's not the end of the world.
After spending approx 30 minutes trying to find the NFL game on TV we finally ordered our happy hour drinks from the waitress. When we first sat down our waitress gave us 2 menus, 1 for the food and the other for drinks during happy hour.(2x1) I ordered a Margarita and my buddy ordered a beer. Our Server comes back and takes away the happy hour menu and informs us happy hour just ended 5 minutes ago and they would not be able to honor the happy hour promo.. Then she asks do we still want our drinks?? We quickly confirmed"Yes", in obvious frustration. My buddy and I both agreed we were going to have patience for our waitress since she was obviously brand new at Henry's and most likely to the service industry business as well..
Once the drinks arrived my buddy and I were ready to order dinner. He ordered the burger and I ordered the chicken salad. My buddy didn't want the fries but asked if he could "puedo cambiar las papas por una ensalada"? Obviously she couldn't answer that question so we watched her once again return to the back and ask the ONLY employee who was familiar with the system. As we observed the bar it was VERY clear all the employees never worked for Henry's or previously had any experience working in a bar or restaurant.
I have been to Henry's in Escazu and I have been waited on by servers who have worked for Henry's for a good amount of time. C'mon, how about bring 2 or 3 of these employees and mix them with new staff @ Los Yoses for opening week and now you just eliminated a lot of your issues and increased efficiency, which the restaurant DEF needs.
Ok, Moving on we ended the night with a $60 tab for a mediocre salad and a burger "definitely not worth the $14 price".
Four months later I decide to give Henry's another chance. I arrive solo and sit at a table and quickly notice the table next to mine are already talking with the manager expressing their frustration with dining experience. When you are a restaurant/bar and you charge $18 for a Margarita, or $16 for a Hamburger, and $20 for Fajitas, you not only must provide the best top quality food but you also must provide the top quality service.
