My husband and I live in a small beach town 4 hours away so when we visit the city, we really look forward to a big city experience. We took our father out for dinner, hoping to make it a special one. We stumbled across this restaurant in a relatively new and very nice mall. The prices were high but so was the quality and we did not mind paying well over $100 for 3 meals, 2 tapas and a nice bottle of wine and a shared dessert. The cheese plate looked disappointing when they first served simply because of the amount of cheese, however, the cheeses were exceptional and it was accompanied by a very tasty garlic butter and fresh warm bread. It went very well with the bottle of red wine that the waiter suggested.

We also asked for a tapas suggestion and the host nailed the suggestion with something that was not only very good but something we would probably not be able to find in many other restaurants. It is a plate that I know we will not only remember but one that we will share with our friends and family: Rabo de Toro.

All plates were served nicely spaced apart which gave us comfortable time to enjoy our company and the atmosphere. We did not feel rushed nor did we feel we waiting for any plates to come.

At the end of the night, they served us a nice complementary glass of champagne which added a super special touch to the end of the night.

I will absolutely recommend this restaurant to people.

The mall offers free underground parking.

The restaurant was perfectly decorated to make you feel you had an authentic Spanish experience.

I went to this restaurant with two colleagues when visiting San Jose for business and was staying at a hotel nearby. We were welcomed by the Spanish waiter and nothing was too much trouble. We had a selection of tapas to start, I definitely suggest the croquettes with jamon and queso... The restaurant is in a modern block but has been decorated to feel like a brick walled cellar, very nicely done and delivers an authentic atmosphere. I will definitely be going back on my next trip!

This is my first visit to this restaurant. It has a great location, nice ambience, and the wine list is very good with very fair prices.
Great place for Tapas, and the fresh fish of the day (Red Snapper) was really Good.
The Paella, however, was a real disappointment!! It took a long time and came with a minimum amount of rice, overcooked shrimp and with very little meat. Since Paella is one of the main and classic items on the menu, I would encourage its owners to look into changing the entire recipe and the portion size.
The servers need more training and coordination. Our waiter, seemed to be the only one with a bit more experience among the rest of the staff who kept looking for him every time we needed something. This place has all things set to become a greater experience.

The location is very nice, in a new and modern area. The restaurant is nice. We ordered a paella montanes with rabbit, duck and chorizo. I did not like it, because it was too spicy and could not find the flavors of duck or rabbit. We asked the chef and did not pay much attention. It is very expensive.

Dear Antonie,
I thank you for your visit back in December at La Masia and wish to have you back again to try our rice, we are not sure why you didnt get at least an answer from the chef as to why you found the dish too spicy but can assure we take note of your complaint.

We strive to ensure our menu reflects the true meaning of our food and culture, where spiciness is not a part of our ingredients to be used in any traditional rice dish (paella) however, the only ingredient I can think can cause your sense of spiciness and opaque the taste for the duck and rabbitt may be i a bit too much "ñora" (Niora), a dry variety of a red pepper which we used in all of our dishes and may be used exccesively in your dish we prepared that particular day for you.

I know this is not a conforting response and specially if our chef dind´t come to your table, or myself, but please take this note as an appology and hope for you to give us a second chance.

Best Regards,
