“This is the place to go on Saturday”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Having just completed a trip to San Jose and visiting several other markets, etc., this one is by far my favorite. Costa Rica is just now getting into the swing of organic foods and this is the best place in San Jose to get them. For a visitor, it is a thrilling mix of foods, veggies, fruits and sauces. Additionally, there is a section for crafts, that are interesting and inexpensive. We bought all of our souvenirs for friends back home from there, a nice young lady who handmade beautiful necklaces from hammering out silver wire. We really loved this place and wished it was open more often.

Hi Entscott, Thank you! After a couple of years working hard, we inaugurated a second Market in Ciudad Colón (West side of San José) on Tuesdays evening. Next time you are in Costa Rica, don´t hesitate on visiting us.

Pura Vida.

“Awesome farmer's market!”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

If you find yourself in San Jose on a Saturday morning, I highly recommend you make your way to Feria Verde de Aranjuez. It is a wonderful farmer's market full of friendly people, great selection of produce, delicious prepared foods to snack on, and some of the best coffee and espresso I found in Costa Rica being served up by Taza Amarilla. Some of the other highlights are the beautiful jewelry and pottery (I came away with 2 coffee mugs and a pair of earrings). There's a guy serving vegan empanadas (Bavarian maybe) that are out of this world delicious! There's live music and people hanging out, and all around it's a great place to spend the morning.

“I. Ate. So. Much.”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

Seriously. The treats and dishes, the appetizing smells... how could I resist? Everything was delicious, and there was such range; from traditional Costa Rican fare, to dehydrated snacks, to coffee and kombucha. Yum! It was all great value, too, made fresh, and it was wonderful to support the San Jose Community.

Lots of shopping, too. Clothes stands, jewelry, essential oils, beautify products and much more.

It's usually quite busy, not too crowded, but with a healthy troop of people, both regulars and visitors.

I love the mission and I love how well organized they are. The only points which were low are; finding the place (google will get you part way, but you have to figure it out from there) the Machu-Pitcchu style stairs, and the fact that there is no onsite bathroom, plus the one nearby is quite gross.

But don't let that hold you back - it's so worth it!

“Full of Life, Organic Food, and Great Vibes!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Every week I look forward to my Saturday visit to La Feria Verde where I enjoy purchasing high quality organic food, artisan goods, and my much anticipated Cafe Latte with Almond Milk. Even more enjoyable then all the sensual organic treats, is the community that forms around this heart centered weekly event. My only wish is that we could have La Feria Verde 2-3 times per week. If you enjoy community, healthy organic foods, and voting for local vendors with your purchase then you have got to come to one of the best farmers markets I have ever been to, La Feria Verde.

“Grateful for this organic market!”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

We go to La Feria Verde every Saturday morning! We are grateful to have access to such high quality, fresh and locally grown fruits and vegetables. Also available are nuts, handmade tortillas from non GMO corn, smoked, cured and fresh trout as well as smoked tuna. Organic chocolates, amazing breads, coffee, herbs, fermented foods, cheeses and other products from cows and goats, fresh chicken, pasta, jams, sauces... The list is endless! We even buy laundry detergent, disinfectant and face and body creams there. We have made several good friends at the feria and look forward to seeing them every week, hanging out in the relaxed atmosphere, listening to live music, enjoying breakfast or a cappuccino!
