Owner description: The Jade Museum and of precolumbian culture is positioned as an innovative state-of-the-art cultural proposal in the protection and conservation of archaeological heritage in Central America. Located in the center of Costa Rics's capital, the building was especially constructed to house the museum's collection, its architecture evoking a cut jade block. Its five levels exhibit objects crafted by artisans specialized in solving their daily subsistence needs, their spiritual and political world.

“Not the easiest location but worth the walk”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Some beautiful pieces are art and of course jade, but nowhere near the number of exhibits expected. Not the easiest place to get to and only worth spending a short amount of time here.

“Spend your time at the National Museum”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We went to the Jade Museum and then the following day went to the National Museum in San Jose. The National Mueseum was wonderful and had a nice collection of jade, as well as significant exhibits of Costa Rican history, a butterfly garden, and of course a cool fort. Everyone has limited time and I recommend just skipping the Jade Museum.

“Cool Museum”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

This museum had a very nice interior. My only gripe was that it didn't seem to have a lot of exhibits. I would go again, but don't plan to spend much time there.

“Average Museum”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

It was a good exhibit but I was expecting it to be bigger. You can take -no flash pictures, that was nice.
