After the heat and humidity it was wonderful to wake up nice and cool this morning. We arrived late last night, almost 9:00pm. Check-in was easy. Unfortunately we were also in a part of town where the taxi driver felt compelled to point out which directions were 'peligroso' (dangerous) and which were not. Later we grabbed some chicken from a local parilla (grill) and two soft drinks. We didn't feel unsafe in any way, but then we've been traveling in Latin America for awhile.
The room itself was decent and clean. Our main issue was that the bed was a rather thin piece of foam on plywood. Possibly the hardest surface I've ever slept on outside of tent camping.
There is a restaurant downstairs and a bakery across the street.
This place is fine in a pinch, but if you plan ahead pick somewhere else. See my reviews for where we ended up in San Jose.
