Pacuare River Rafting Expedition Class III-IV...
Reviewed 21 July 2014

This was one of the most amazing things we did in CR. This Pacuare is one of the top rivers to raft in the world, and you can easily see why. The scenery leaves you speechless and the guides are a lot of fun! Pura Vida! They feed you breakfast and lunch as well. Well worth the money!

This tour was my first time white water rafting. The experience was amazing and really got your adrenaline pumping. The currents at Rio Pacuare range from 'baby currents' to 'extreme currents' when it feels as if you're holding on to the raft for dear life. Not to mention in the calmer areas of the river, we were even able to leave the raft and go for swim. Also the forest surrounding the river is breathtaking and provided a beautiful backdrop for the day. The tour guides were also very funny and entertaining (mine even 'accidentally' pushed me into the water at one point). Lunch is also included on this tour at a half way point, where lunch is located in the forest. Overall, this is a great experience that is definitely worth the journey.

I went with the idea of a 1-2 hours tour. I was wrong thank God; it was 5 hours of pure fun. Transportation from San Jose to Rio Pacuare (about 2 hrs) and lunch is included. We had the best tour guy, Diego. He explains everything and made us feel part of the family. We jumped in to the river a couple of times; also he let us control the raft, so for a couple of minutes you can by the captain of the boat. The sights are spectacular. The day we went the river level was low (category 2-3), but fun enough for the first time, it was great. I recommend sun screen and water shoes, if you can go on light long pants even better. If you don't do rafting in CR you did not had fun.

PURA VIDA

White water rafting down the Paquare river was unforgettable. I've done a fair amount of rafting before, but I had never seen scenery like this. The forest is vibrant with a variety of flora, the temperature was perfect (even though it rained heavily), and the rapids were exciting. Terrific trip.
