Casa 69 consists of two large homes positioned across the street from one another. Both homes have been beautifully restored by the owner, Kurt. As other reviews have commented on the convenient location (close to city center) and the included breakfast (fruit, juice, coffee, and bread), I won't go into detail about these items here.
However, I will re-iterate what many others have commented about regarding the hospitality of Kurt and his staff. I stayed at Casa 69 for one night at the beginning and one night at the end of my weeklong visit to Costa Rica. As I was departing, I did not have enough cash to cover the bill. Rather than asking me to go to an ATM (and pay the foreign transaction fee) Kurt suggested that I just pay the bill via PayPal after I returned back to the U.S. What hospitality! He even invited my wife and I to have a glass of wine one evening. I would highly recommend Casa 69 to anyone wishing to stay in the city of San José.More
