My wife and I were staying at the hotel for our honeymoon and didn't want to leave to eat dinner. We were easily accommodated. After looking briefly at the tripadvisor page we anticipated a relatively expensive meal. We each had drinks, appetizers, and entrees and with tip (20%) and tax our total bill was about $120 for two. Which is very reasonable for any city I've ever been in.

All the food we had was great. We each had a different kind of Costa Rican fish which we thought tasted great. The fish was fresh and moist and we both left more than full.

Our only complaint is that while our waiter spoke English fairly well and and was exceedingly nice, he often took a long time to get to us. I generally notice this most as I drink a lot of water with dinner. It was noticeable how often my water glass was empty.

We would absolutely eat here again and think it was a great value, especially considering it's attached to a wonderful hotel.

Wonderful options and delicious food. Beautiful restaurant, great service. Pricey, but it's a high end restaurant. Not the best choice for a family of 8, but worth the convenience on our last night and morning in Costa Rica.

The restaurant is in an enclosed courtyard of the old mansion and is well appointed. Service was excellent and the menu reasonably extensive. The food was fresh and excellent.

Hotel Grano de Oro's restaurant is NICE.

As with most "fancy" restaurants, the selection on the menu is rather limited, but the items that they do prepare they prepare very, very well. Portions are fairly small (according to my standards, at least), presentation of the meals is very attractive, and the food is deliciously prepared.

The price tag is on the very high side for Costa Rica, but is a decent value for the ambiance and quality -- you go to this type of restaurant prepared to spend, regardless of the country it is located in, so as long as you are willing to go with that in mind, it is worth a visit.

The ambiance is classy, the service very good and the food well prepared and presented attractively. Chef Pascal Canal and his staff do a great job.
Pricey but in line with what you would expect in a high end place.
