Lovely accommodations. Very friendly and helpful owners. If you are a plant lover, this is the place to stay. Things blooming with amazing colors and much attention has been taken to keep up the grounds, blds., etc.. Very nice room also. Would definitely stay there again. You are within walking distance of many items of interest. Safe area.

We stayed here for one night upon our arrival in Costa Rica. It was recommended by a Costa Rican friend. If I had known how lovely it is, I would have planned for more time there. After a long travel day, it was a delight to arrive at this charming sunny yellow B&B, with its lovely garden and wonderful front porch. I was thankful our taxi driver knew where she was going since the B&B is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. However, one can easily walk to nearby restaurants in town. After settling into our rooms, we enjoyed a cool drink and evening breeze among the wicker furniture, plants and free wifi.
The owners Xavier and Pilar couldn't have been more welcoming. They have thought of every amenity and helped us arrange transportation from the airport, and then on to our next destination, as well as gave advice about restaurants, the nearest ATM, practical items and things to do in the area.
We rented two rooms for our family, and liked being in our own little "wing" of the second floor. The rooms were clean and comfortable but not large, with a good hot shower and plenty of electric outlets. And though other guests were staying upstairs too, we couldn't hear anyone else. Down the hallway there is a cozy little seating area where I curled up with a book after dinner. It was nice to feel so at home after traveling for a week. We had to leave very early the next morning, and Xavier graciously had a quick early breakfast ready for us. If you are looking for a place to stay outside of San Jose, this is it! We hope to return...

The Casa is a lovely large home in a suburb, Escazu, of downtown San Jose. The owners, Xavier & Pillar, are exceptionally cordial, gentle and low key B&B hosts. The breakfast served on the outside patio was wonderful. Our room was sun-filled and the entire home is surrounded by a lovely trees and a garden in the front and back. You can arrange to be picked up at the airport and driven directly to the Casa. It's a terrific introduction to the country.

Casa de las Tias was located on a quite lane near a busy street. It was near several excellent restaurants and the owners helped us make reservations and get transportation. They also arranged for a driver from the airport and helped us plan excursions including a local market and a distant one to a botanical garden. We had a beautiful large room overlooking their beautiful garden. The owners were really nice and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful everyday of our stay.

The room offered an unforgettable introduction to the bird songs and beautiful greenery of Costa Rica. The hosts offered superb breakfasts, gave tips and helped with our tour of San Jose, and were the most warm, friendly patrons of the Casa. We had a very relaxing stay just minutes away by taxi (inexpensive) from the center of San Jose. Definitely worth the highest accolades possible.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the garden, sunny, and welcoming.
