A Day to Remember! Enjoyed the whole experience, from the beautiful 360 degree scenery to the lovely meal on One Foot Island. Was amazing seeing the fish,& especially George circling round while out snorkelling. Loved the time on the SandBar and the walk across to One Foot Island. Felt really cared for by the guys and enjoyed the history. Tip is take lots of photos and sunscreen and a good sun hat. A Day in Your Life You Will Never Forget!!!!

We did the whole day Lagoon Tour that started with a waiting period because the honeymooners we picked up from their resort were not ready, but we were entertained by watching the resorts staff combing the beach...
Gliding into the Lagoon we were welcomed by the most different shades of blue I've ever seen. The crew told us facts about the motus, but mostly they delighted us with funny songs they played (crew=band).
After cruising a while in the Lagoon, we came to the snorkelling spot. Here came the only demerit of the tour, but a hard one. The snorkelling gear was so old and scruffy with black stains everywhere, the fins were in a box where everyone could fight for the fitting size, and we tried to wash the goggles and snorkel with the provided leaves but it only got more messy and smeary, it was absolutely yuck! Once overcome the disgust, it was worth the snorkelling for the huge fish and the giant clam, bit it was still an odd feeling with this nasty thing in my mouth.
On board again, we headed for a perfect white sandbank where we could spend some time while the crew prepared our lunch.
Last stop was One Foot Island, the famous island with the super small post office. First we got fabulous lunch, with various rich, fresh salads, grilled fish and meat, bread and fruits. So yummy! Then we finally got our passport and postcards stamped, an absolute must for the stamp is in shape of, tada, one foot. We then had some time to wander around the motu or some more swimming and snorkelling before we were taken back.
If not for the snorkelling gear, this was the perfect Aitutaki Lagoon Tour.

The main attraction is the motus and lagoon and this didn't disappoint. It is simply stunning. And to be out on a boat and enjoying them is great. The lagoon is amazing.
However, we felt a bit dumped on this cruise. Trip was very late starting. The bread to feed the fish was forgotten. We were dropped off while they went back to get lunch. Then we had to rush back early as a family group had a plane to catch so we missed the turtles and other stuff.
We didn't know what the plan was. At the first motu (island) we landed and didn't know what the plan was or what was happening.
Lunch was very nice, but so late that we were very tired and hungry. So I suggest you take snacks. This trip does not go to honeymoon island which I think is the most stunning. And one foot island was just busy - five boat loads of people all there at the same time ruined the whole appreciation.

We were on island with the Paul Gaugain and we were hesitant to do the group tours with the rest of the cruise passengers. Bishop did a phenomenal job of organizing a group of 35 passengers and the overall experience was off the charts. There were so many fish, I could barely see through them. That was until a 50 pound one(looked like a tuna) came by and scared all the reef fish. The Bishop family is actually the owner of One Foot Island and there is a very interesting history. Make sure you ask them before you go.
