“Stunning house”

This place is heaven absolutely stunning. Literally roll out the front door and into the lagoon. I'd say best place in
Aitutaki that we saw.

I can't complain about the place or the house the only thing I'd say is that I think it's a bit rich to only supply one roll of toilet paper for a week. We pay good money to rent the house and I think there are some basic amenities you expect. Also charging 40 per canoe to rent for 24 hours when they belong to the house is a bit steep. I understand it's a tourist economy but surely you include this with the house. But that's the only negative...

There's a ripping little cafe around the corner to eat and Rema is a wonderful host. She came around and helped make the girls flower crowns for a wedding we were off to. Really lovely genuine person.

If you're lucky enough to go to Aitutaki you won't regret it.

“"Paradise" - Best location on Aitutaki. Highly recommended.”
Reviewed 31 January 2017 for a stay in October 2016

Great house-great location-great people-beautiful views and modern house. The house was perfect for us, 2 couples ( 4 seniors). We spent 8 days at the villa. Perfect location at the lagoon side, just a few steps from the front door to the water. Fantastic sitting on the deck having breakfast, dinner, drinks in the afternoon looking out to the lagoon and the beatiful sunset. It was like beeing in paradise. Thanks to Rima for taking care og us. She was always helpful and just a call away if we need anything. The place is peaceful, quiet, relaxing, no dogs, no glas on the beach, very friendly, very clean. Different restaurants and a nice cafe, all within walking distance. We cannot recommend this place highly enough !

Ootu Villa has everything you need for a relaxing stay within a stones throw of the best swimming beach on Aitutaki. Three good sized bedrooms, master has an ensuite. Fully equipped kitchen, great for when you just want to make your own meals. Full laundry and a shared BBQ all onsite. The villa has UV filtered drinking water in the kitchen which is a bonus! Another great thing about this place is, it is on tank water, which came in very handy when the Islands main water supply was turned off every now and then over Christmas (to help with conservation)
We spent 5 weeks at the villa, and would recommend it for any length of stay. We would like to thank Rima and Richard for taking care of us during our stay, they were always just a call away if we needed anything, but never did we find them overbearing (as has been mentioned in another review). We were left to enjoy our home away from home, and can not recommend this place highly enough!
The villa is approximately 100mtrs from Aitutaki Village Resort, so you have easy access to a restaurant and bar if you don't feel like cooking. Koru Cafe is 300mtrs away, and serves the best coffee on the island, their menu is contemporary so don't worry, eggs benedict or a classic big breakfast can be found there. 100mtrs on from Koru Cafe, you will find the Boatshed Bar and Restaurant, which has amazing food for reasonable prices.

This villa is very popular so would recommend getting in early to book your next holiday. Don't take our word for it, do yourself a favour, and go find out for yourself!

“Beautiful but bothersome”

The house itself was great. The house helper rema visited almost daily. I like to rent a house to not have to deal with others yet she reminded me a light outside was left on. Made comment about having a three bedroom house for just two people was a lot and also didn't have the other two bedrooms made up. The house was stripped of all amenities. You have to buy it all. Rema then shares what is left with the villagers. There was black hair all over the floor I don't think it was even swept. We had to buy toilet paper. Rema talked bad about the other renters and talked about how she knew everyone in town. Seemed like a nosey busy body. Don't let her talk you into driving into the store for 30.00 to buy super expensive groceries. The boat shack will drive you for 5.00 per person or you can rent a scooter for 25.00 for 24 hours and get your own groceries. She really encouraged us to buy laundry detergent for the house we didn't need to do laundry. When we went to another beach she met us at the house and said "you have such a pretty beach outside your house and people come to enjoy it but you go elsewhere". The house was nice but I really didn't need the judgment.

If you are a couple we only make up the 1 king size bed, and not all the beds in the house. The only amenities we supply on arrival is coffee, tea, milk, sugar, fruit bowl, drinking coconut. This is the first time any of our guest have complained about Rima, the guest usually love her!

“Another wonderful holiday, no wonder we keep returning”
Reviewed 24 August 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Our family of 6: 2 adults 4 children along with my parents this visit enjoyed the wonders of Aitutaki and Ootu again renting both villa and beach house. The shutters are a great addition to the house to keep it cool and shaded along with the paddle board. We never tire of the view, lifestyle or Rimas hospitality and plan our return. My son celebrated his 4th birthday during our stay and all the children still speak of it and how much fun it was, a memory they shall gave forever. Thank you for a wonderfull location and allowing us to share it

Where do i start? We were met at the airport with genuine warmth and a lei by Rima Mata who manages the villa. We arrived on sunset and were fortunate enough to witness an amazing aerial view of the island and the lagoon...the vibrant blues of the waters just blows you away!! Although it sleeps 6, our 3 bdroom 2 bathroom villa was spotless and very spacious for 4. As an added touch of warmth, Rima had picked fresh local fruit from her gardens as part of our welcome. The villa is located on a very safe swimming beach, easy access to restaurants, water sports equipment, and scooter hire.We had the most amazing time !! Very teary when I left :-( I would def recommend and would love to return to same everything. Thank you Rima & Richard xx

The photos are representative . This is a beautiful location
A perfectly placed house , short step to a swim and restful outlook when not swimming.
Everything you need is here. Fully equipped kitchen, good laundry, Great bathrooms. BBQ.
We were 3 couples 6 adults and accommodated us very comfortably.
Clean and beautifully presented.
Helpful and friendly hosts who were a great source of information.
Good ventilation and fully insect screened. No dogs in Aitutaki!
Maybe take your earplugs if rooster annoy you.

If you are fishing in the lagoon you need license
