The surroundings are really like a paradise, except you'll feel the unhappy workers and employees, which made me question myself "how safe is this resort?." The advertising videos and pictures are real, no lies, but will not show the tension from the employees, you'll feel they are strictly instructed to smile and pretend they are happy to see you in their "paradise", most of them are not perfect actors. One advice to everybody: don't leave cash money even in the locked! safe! it's not safe.

Room Tip: Remote area and nice resort as in the pictures and videos. Don't leave cash money even in the lo...

A beautiful spot, however the Island has a nickname as it is very separate from the main island. I believe the staff are told not to tell you about other activities or restaurant's etc outside of he resort and are very unfriendly about it. I was sick and I had only eaten there so had a bit of concern. (think it may have been the Asian Salad). The time of year we went it was coolish and very windy. We couldn't enjoy the deck but the view was amazing!! Probably would try Pacific Resort next time as we stopped in and they were very helpful (and the place was stunning) and in fact gave me the name of the water taxi to take us to one foot island that cost us $120.00 for two , Lagoon resort and spa told me it would cost $350.00. One foot was amazing!!. All in all I wouldn't rush back to that resort!

Room Tip: Depending on time of year the beachfront bungalow and over water can be VERY WINDY!!

This resort owner for their own good, who has not been there for 4 years and lives in Wgtn, NZ needs to change the manager and the larger light skinned rude receptionist as soon as possible. They are rude, and have no care for service or their visitors. They are driving people away!
Also they speak in their own language at reception and laugh, where they should only be speaking english front of house.

There are two lovely front desk women who should be in management roles and seriously tell the other two to find alternate employment.

The restaurant is a no go zone! We ordered the pork belly and literally got a thick square of fat with no meat. They ring you late afternoon to ask if your going to the restaurant as well.

The resort charges a 4% Visa fee, which is daylight robbery when most of the guests infact are all from overseas, and would infact pay by credit card. Also they charge a late check out fee and by the hour. An absolute disappointment when flights leave out at 7pm.

The deluxe rooms and overwater bungalows are on the windy side of the island, so its better to have the beachfront rooms which are warmer and sheltered.

If there were no restaurant, no rude staff and the direction of the bungalows were away from the prevailing wind, this place would rate really well. Best location on island, unfortunately the worst staff, restaurant and charges.

Room Tip: Don't pay for the deluxe or overwater bungalows.

We stayed for 4 nights at this resort . The location is beautiful , truly a stunning part of the world and definitely on the right side of the island beach wise .
We paid for a deluxe beachfront room because we had been told that the rooms had recently been upgraded and were quieter the the overwater bungalows . To our surprise on arrival , we had been upgraded to an over water bungalow . No explanation was given from the staff re the upgrade or whether we were happy with the change in what we had paid for . The room was quaint but small and is on the windy side of the resort so we were never able to enjoy the balcony nor swim off the balcony due to strong currents.
We purchased a meal plan for our stay at the resort . The resort promises 4 star dining . The food delivered is what I can only describe as home cooking done very badly ! We ate at the resort for only 3 meals and the choose to eat at other restaurants on the island . The staff never enquired why we didn't use our meal plan and the whole plan was a waste of money!
I guess the most disappointing thing about the resort was the service provision and the quality of the resort . The resort is in dire need of upgrading as is not the 4 star as advertised and is more like 2 star at best which is disappointing especially with the rates that are charged. The sun loungers were totally uncomfortable and in disparate need of replacement.
The staff appear to be guarded and many of the management staff surly and didn't appear very happy . We choose to spend our days away from the resort and experience the true beauty of Aitutaki and mingle with the local people who we found very friendly and very happy to have a chat in 'typical island time'
Such a Devine part of the world but we would never choose to stay at this resort again as it just does not deliver what they advertise.

Room Tip: Deluxe beachfront rooms quieter , overwater bungalows not worth the additional $$$$

Peaceful paradise for us two --- it offered all we needed and more!
We had a beachfront room --- just separated from the water's edge by 2 palms and a hammock :) The room was immaculate and spacious and was kept spotless for us by very friendly staff.
The food was excellent, the choice of refreshments unending and in good supply.
All the staff were so friendly and helpful --- and in this day , it is great to be somewhere where they all smiled and remembered each of us.
Everywhere was immaculate and the grounds being continuously groomed.
We came to enjoy the rare peace to be found in this hectic world of wars and turmoil and rush ---- and that is just what we got, thank you!

We stayed in an overwater bungalow for four nights. Bungalow was large and very comfy. Only thing that was needed was a minibar. Being an island meant there was always a sheltered beach. Food was good, staff were friendly. Spa was average. Beautiful place. Sunloungers on beach bungalows need to be updated for the price you pay. Regular beach bungalows may be better value as our bungalow deck was only useable when the wind was going in the right direction.

I found the staff at the resort friendly and extremely helpful.
I had a medical incident that needed urgent attention on my first day.
My husband went to reception ,and they immediately arranged transportation to the local hospital.
I had to make regular daily visits to hospital and the staff were always helpful and accommodating.
TK. Took me everyday and he was cheerful, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.
So,contrary to what I've read in some reviews,I found the staff wonderful!

Room Tip: The rooms nearest the ferry hear the motor start daily at 6.30
