A brilliant location on the lagoon, with sun lounges and water sports equipment (including canoes) at the ready. Our garden studio was lovely, from the hammock on the deck to the clean and well appointed room. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The show on Thursday night was also a highlight. The staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay, I'll be back!

We stayed for 4 nights in Beachfront Bungalow, excellent - roomy, quiet and all the flowers on arrival made it seem even more magical. As opposed to another review, we didn't mind the cat who adopted us made it feel more like home. We had been in Raratonga for 6 days before & it was great to unwind more at Tamanu before heading home, liked the fact that there was no kids. Staff were warm and friendly, in fact everyone on the island was, everyone waved as they drove by us when on a walk. A special thank you to Nane, an amazing woman. Would have no hesitation recommending Tamanu and hope to be back again one day. We were lucky, the weather was great. Thanks for the holiday of a lifetime.

Room Tip: Beachfront Bungalow makes the visit extra special

We were disappointed that the bar by the pool was never in operation. Also that the happy hour was only once a week, on the Saturday evening, held in the reception area. It was very annoying having rugby on the TV screen, especially when young local boys came in, yelling at the screen..............................

The food was excellent and the staff so very friendly, but as the weather was inclement, for the majority of our stay, we missed not having a TV or radio. The hotel library was a joke! It would have been nice if there are had been board games or playing cards available.

We found the mosquitoes a menace and never saw any evidence of insecticide being sprayed in the bushes or undergrowth around our chalet, which was very comfortable and extremely private, just what we envisaged.

Tamanu Beach is all one could dream of for a perfect holiday if you love peace and quiet in an ideal lagoon setting. The staff have a wonderful caring attitude overlaid with Aitutaki charm. The rooms are spacious, private and very clean and the meals are wonderful with plenty of local fish and vegetables and fruit. An uplifting experience! Many thanks. Lorna

Room Tip: As near to the lagoon as possible/

So we're all amped and ready to catch some Cook Island rays, and it rains and blows a gale for the whole time we are there bar half an afternoon. So we read and walked and ate. Great food, although having cats annoy you in the open air restaurant is bad when you have cat allergies. Lizards on ceilings, land crabs trying to get into your room at night, roosters crowing at 4.45am all make for the island experience though! A helpful tip for the hotel would be to invest in some beach torches so we could see where we are going when heading from restaurant back to Bungalow room in the evenings. Also, our travel agent told us she had told the hotel it was our honeymoon - we received no extra surprises or treats until my husband talked with them on the last day and we received a cheap bottle of Lindaur. That was very disappointing. Otherwise, I do recommend this place.

Room Tip: If going for a garden bungalow, take a torch to walk back to room from restaurant as there are no li...

Really enjoyed my stay despite being quite unwell the whole time. Staff were happy and willing to book day trips and arrange pick ups etc. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. Fellow visitors were delightful and friendly, great shared facilities and equipment - kayaks to snorkels and the beach and lagoon an absolute delight. Local roosters were entertaining, whilst they crowed constantly, I did not find this an issue, I was so relaxed it never ever disturbed my sleep. Verandahs were lovely and comfortable with hammocks - fantastic!!

Temanu Beach Resort was an awsome place to stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well serviced. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lagoon at your doorstep is just amazing and the snorkelling is a must. Temanu Beach has a real Cook Island vibe even down to the wake up call by the roosters :)I truly do hope to return one day to this beautiful relaxing spot.
