My husband and I stayed at Etu Moana for 3 nights of our honeymoon. Tim and Lucille were so lovely and accommodating. We loved everything they suggested. The lagoon cruise they recommend with Panu was our favorite day of the trip. The Villas were private, spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The beach was stunning with great snorkeling and gorgeous sunsets. We stayed at 2 places on our visit to Aitutaki, and we wished we only stayed at Etu Moana. When we get back to the Cook Islands, we will stay here!

We stayed here for 4 nights in June. Lucile and Tim the managers are lovely and the resort is excellant. It is very small and private and the villas are well spread out through out the property. The villas are spacious and well equipped. We took our breakfast on a tray to our deck every morning for a lovely private breakfast. we had a beach view villa which was great. They have 2 kayaks at the other end of the island for use which we enjoyed using. The bikes are great and we enjoyed a bike around the island one morning, but go early before it gets too hot. We had a rental car which was organized by the resort and a car is needed really as at night the baech and roads are dark so a bit difficult to walk to them . A car is needed if you plan to explore the island a little. Go to the Koru cafe for lunch one day and Tupunas for dinner one night. Could highly recommend black pearl fishing charters also. Would stay at Etu Moana again, is a touch of luxury .

Room Tip: beach front or beach view villas if you can afford the bit extra.

We stayed at Etu Moana for 3 days at the beginning of July. From the moment Lucile and Tim greeted us, to our farewell at the airport our holiday was perfect! They offered suggestions for restaurants, organised bookings, pick-ups and suggested a lagoon cruise on our last day, which was a highlight of our holiday.
Our beachfront unit had a large, comfortable bed, excellent kitchen, indoor and outdoor shower and a large deck with comfortable loungers to relax on and enjoy the view and sunsets. The breakfast area and food were excellent and loved the pool and gardens. The honesty bar was great with a good selection of drinks.
Etu Moana is a perfect place for a quiet, romantic and relaxing holiday. Will definitely be back, but for longer! Thanks Lucile and Tim.

We stayed at Etu Moana for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was perfect. The staff were brilliant, the bungalows fantastic with full kitchen, massive comfy bed, veranda looking out to the beach and private outdoor shower for that rinse off after beach time.
It small, only 8 bungalows, and that makes it quiet and relaxing. If you're looking for the big impersonal resort there's one just down the road :-)
We will definitely come back, hopefully sooner than later!

Room Tip: Close to the beach is great

We spent three days in an absolute beach front free standing villa, it was amazing the room was clean and well equip with everything we could possibly need. The staff were so friendly and always happy to assist.
The breakfast buffet was so well set up around the pool with a variety of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, eggs etc.
I also enjoyed a lovely massage on the privacy of our deck one of the best I'v had.
we enjoyed having drinks in the evening with our friends at the honesty bar it had everything we needed.
We would highly recommend this place and will be back.

Room Tip: Absolute beach front has to be an option

First and foremost on the very positive side are the hosts Tim and Lucile. They make the resort special. Always there to accommodate your wishes making your stay restful. The accommodations are thatched huts on the outside and modern on the inside. There is a refrigerator, toaster, stove and utensil's. The entire resort is built with quality construction. Views are impressive with a jungle feel and beautiful views of the lagoon. The only minor issues that we felt might be improved were the breakfast selection and the roosters crowing all morning. Breakfast consists mainly of three loaves of bread, two cereals, drinks and hard boiled eggs. As I stated, very minor but worth mentioning, falling short as compared to similar priced resort that we have stayed at. I assume not much could be done in the rooster issue however; annoying if you wish to sleep in. We were very happy with choosing Etu Moana. A top notch, intimate resort on a exquisite island.

We stayed at Etu Moana for the last part of our honeymoon and had a very nice time. Here is an overview of this delightful boutique resort:

Rooms:
Each room is its own freestanding villa. They are very modern and nicely appointed. The front door has glass, screen, and wooden shades for great privacy or keeping you villa open to the ocean breeze. On the side of the rooms are nicely appointed small kitchens. Every piece of silverware, glassware, and plates that you could want. Small stove, refrigerator, freezer, and sink with filtered water. Comes with TV and DVD player. Only two channels on the TV, but this is standard for the Cook Islands. Bathrooms are very nice with an indoor and outdoor private shower. Wifi is limited depending on which residence you are staying in. But let's be honest, you are on Aitutaki and shouldn't be on the internet anyway. Beds were somewhat comfortable. Very nice porch complete with mosquito coils that are replaced daily you can burn to keep mosquitos away. We never had problems with them anyway. There are 4 villas right on the beach, two behind them, and two further back with more limited views of the ocean but a more moderate nightly rate. There are good AC units as well if you prefer air conditioning. If you sleep with the windows open, be ready for the cry of the rooster in the morning, as they are all over the Cook Islands.

Resort Amenities-
Breakfast-
The highlight for us was the amazing but simple breakfast they treated everyone to each morning. Breakfast was served from 8-10 and included fresh fruits, fresh fruit spreads, amazing breads, yogurt, granola, and fresh french pressed coffee and juices. It is served by the pool each morning.
The Pool-
The resort has a very nice modestly sized pool that is great for cooling off. Located a few meters back from the beach with views of the tropical plants and trees.
The Honesty Bar-
Etu Moana has a nicely stocked honesty bar that you can make use of. It's great for grabbing drinks for the pool, beach, or taking back to your unit.
Kayaks and Paddle Boards-
The resort has a nice selection of Sea Kayaks and Paddle Boards. Great for using around high tide plus of minus a couple of hours. They even have a mooring buoy you can paddle out to, tie up your board/kayak and relax or snorkel.
Beach Lounge Chairs-
A nice selection of beach lounge chairs for each villa.
DVD Collection- There is a great DVD collection, mostly romantic comedies of course, and several other genres.
Bikes- There are plenty of bicycles to use. If you are in decent shape, you can bike just about anywhere on the island. The "town" is only a 5-10 minute ride away.

Location-
Etu Moana is in a beautiful location. It has great views of the ocean and lagoon that is protected by the reef. Easy to walk to nearby restaurants or hop on your bike for a quick ride into town. The beach is very nice as well. It is raked daily by the staff. Might consider wearing flip flops as we found the occasional broke glass piece, nothing for concern though. Very clean. If you're not up for biking or walking, they can arrange a scooter rental for you.

Staff-
The staff at Etu Moana is incredibly friendly and professional. Many of them have worked at other high end resorts, and have chosen to come work at Etu Moana. They aim to please and were very helpful throughout our stay. The GMs and staff even help one couple plan their small wedding on the beach while we were there.

Overall thoughts-
Etu Moana is a great resort to come to for couples, friends reconnecting, and anyone wanting to get away from it all. It is a very quiet, private place, where you can be off the grid, and enjoy an amazing time at one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
