“really bad beach and waters”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2009

The rooms where OK. But the beach is made of dirt covered with 1cm of sand that has been brought there. We tried to go out for a swim but it was not a nice feeling to sink down into the mudd on the bottom. This place is build on an area where there is no natural sand. This is not an area that feels like the paradise that Aitutaki can be. We stayed here for 5 days but spent all our days at Matriki. Matriki is a lot better if you want nice beaches, good swiming and snorkling.

All of this peninsula where we are on is white sand, you can dig as far down as you can and still come up with sand.
We are on the inland side of the lagoon and most of this area is shallow so we had a swimming area excavated in front of the hotel. We have a lot of people that enjoyed the beach and swimming even from other hotels so find it hard to understand why write something not true.

We have spent 6 night at Inano and we had a great time.
We had friends staying in the nearby resorts and we had a chance to compare, Inano was best by far for the money. Spacious cottages, nice beach with s sort of natural swimming pool (important because the lagoon is very shallow there), etc. Veia was most helpful, in additional to looking after us, giving us a ride to shops, etc she even volunteered to babysit for us! We would go there again. Most recommended!

Inano Beach Bungalows are incredible! Hosts Moeau & Veia were excellent & did all they could to make our stay easy & enjoyable. The accommodation is roomy, comfortable & provides all you need and some for a very relaxing holiday.
Swimming was great. Kyaks available to venture further and enjoy some snorkelling. The great thing about Inano is that it's close to scooter/car rental, restaurants and a beach bar (all within a leisurely 10 min walk), and you get a great sense of "my island".
We had spent a couple of nights on the Western Side of Aitutaki which is sheltered from the trade winds. This was quite uncomfortable at this time of year with temperatures of 30-35 deg c. The trade winds on the eastern side (Inano) took the edge off this heat and made our stay even more enjoyable.
Would thoroughly recommend this to anybody considering a visit to Aitutaki.

We stayed at Inano Beach Bungalows for seven nights in March. We loved the simple, but very clean bungalows and the friendly reception by the owners, a local couple. The beach is amazing - there is no other hotel in sight. This is a wonderful place for a good price. You do need a scooter to get around anywhere on Aitutaki. Can be rented right next door. But there is a great little cafe within walking distance for lunch, and several other restaurants for dinner. Best thing: They are right on the lagoon, not on the outer side of the island as most other hotels.

Just came back from a 2 night stay at the Inano and I have to say that the view from the beachfront bungalow is breathtaking and the view is what you would see in a picture perfect postcard.

Veia (the owner) was just lovely and friendly and nothing was a problem. With the close vicinity to the airport runway, we didn't hear a thing and it was totally peaceful. I would recommend this place for couples mostly as the water, whilst lovely and blue, is very deep for young children. The location is excellent for peace and quiet and the main town is around 10 minutes by scooter.

Highly recommended for those who just want to relax in the peace and quiet.

We absolutely loved our stay at Inano Beach! We stayed for 5 days during the last week of July, which was a low season and we were the only guests (this might be one of the reasons we loved it so much!)

Bungalows:
There is one beachfront bungalow and six more bungalows in the garden-like setting. We stayed at the beachfront one and one could see the lagoon from the bed at sunrise.
Bungalows have a queen-sized bed, a small kitchen (with a fridge, microwave, stove, kettle), toilet and shower, and a deck.
Bungalows are serviced daily and are VERY clean and mosquito-proof.

Price:
We contacted the property directly and paid 160 NZD per night for a beachfront bungalow.

Location:
In our opinion, this is the best location on the island. There are a few places to eat within a 5 min walk (Koru cafe is great for breakfast/lunch and BoatShed is very good for dinner). There is no shops around, so you will need to go to the town (10 min drive on a scooter ). The hosts sell treated water and beer.
The beach is quite deep and good for swimming. Ootu beach (the best beach on the island) is just 300 m away.

It was very quiet during our stay and we enjoyed that!
Inano beach is much more private location than Samade or Ranginui (which are just 5 min walk) and also in a much more pleasant garden setting.
We also think it is a much better location than the west side (which looks more like Rarotonga!).

Entertainment:

The hosts rent kayak (10 NZD per day) which is twice as cheap compared to Samade. You can also rent scooter/bicycle nearby.
Veia (the hostess) recommended Puffy's for an island night (35 NZD per buffet and dancing show) and we enjoyed it very much (there were a lot of locals there, so it must be very good!).
Veia also recommended Bishop's for a lagoon cruise and we went twice (this is definitely a must do as the best snorkelling and swimming places in the lagoon are on the small islands there).
