“Wonderful place to get away!”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We planned this eight day retreat with family and friends last year. It is one of our most memorable trips and this lodge helped make it so. We rented the whole facility as a self catering, short term residence and it worked quite well for the ten of us in residence. We cooked some wonderful meals on the Viking stove as well as took advantage of the local restaurants that remained open into September. We viewed Dahl sheep and goats on the mountains and were there for the first snow on the peaks that surround the area. Day trips to Seward, Anchorage, Cooper Lake and Soldotna were all easy drives since the lodge is so centrally located on the peninsula. The fall colors were fabulous as the week progressed and the fire pit was wonderful the evening we used it late into the night. While everyone was situated bedroom wise we would like to see one room that has a king or two twins that can be bridged into a king bed. I will say, the pictures that are currently on trip advisor do give a good overview of the property.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms in the main lodge and the Mt. Cecil cabin tend to be the warmest rooms.

Thank you so much for the review, and we are so happy your family enjoyed their stay! You all were absolutely wonderful guests, and we hope you return in the future. Thank you for the helpful tip regarding the rooms: definitely can be warmest in the upstairs of a log cabin:-) We will make an effort to accommodate your request, and see about the possibility of bridging the twins in the Main Lodge. Thanks again!!!

We stayed at Mt Cecil Cabin. Has three bedrooms with own bathrooms, small kitchen area with seating (could use one more small table with chairs to make six seatings). Bedrooms have two beds each and with large windows to enjoy the scenery. Has front porch to enjoy the view and quiet. The cabins are extremely clean and well maintained. They also have on property an additional cabin that has pool room, Tv, Hot tub, bar etc. Kept looking out window hoping to see moose walk out of the woods, no luck, maybe next time. We had a great visit and hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: 2nd floor bedroom has a small seating area, quiet time for reading :-)

Nor do the pictures on the web site. The main area of the lodge - combined dining and living room - have large picture windows overlooking mountains; the lodge also has a building-length porch with lots of rocking chairs that share the same wonderful view. Each bedroom has large windows overlooking gardens and trees: lots of light and beauty everywhere. The other small guest cabin is far enough away from the main lodge, you don't even know that it is there. Brian and Katy, the caretakers, live in yet another, unobtrusively located cabin and could not be more helpful and charming. The hot tub also overlooks the mountains. The lodge is large enough for families, but four adults did not feel as if we were in too large a space. It is well-equipped - the stove and fridge are gourmet quality, there's plenty of dishes, etc. - and wonderfully furnished, with a working fireplace and grill. It truly is a gem.
Cooper Landing itself is small but has a great restaurant (The Kingfisher), access to wonderful trails, and close to other sites including Seward and the western side of the Kenai Peninsula.
We were sorry we had to leave after four days.

We've just returned from a vacation throughout Alaska. We had the fortunate opportunity to stay at Alaska Heavenly Lodge and were so glad that we had chosen this property.

Katy is a delightful and knowledgeable hostess and welcomed us upon our arrival. The cabin accommodations were beautiful as is the entire property. Our room had two queen beds with an en suite bathroom and it was spotlessly clean. The lodge location is wonderful as is the view. While our room did not have t.v., the main lodge does for those guests who might feel the need.

Unfortunately for us we only stayed one evening, however we know that the next time we are in Cooper Landing, Alaska Heavenly Lodge will be our place of choice. Congratulations to you Katy and family for providing such a wonderful place!

We stayed at Alaska Heavenly Lodge in the main lodge in August and it was a wonderful stay. The property is beautifully maintained and is nestled between two picturesque mountains. The main lodge was spacious, decorated with great details and had a fully equipped full kitchen. This is a great location very close to fishing, float trips and flightseeing and easy drives to all of the activities in Seward and Kenai. Katy and Brian are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and suggested great activities which all worked out perfectly. Thanks for a great stay!!!

We booked the lodge out for our extended family as our son was getting married at Tern lake. Heavenly Lodge and its delightful hosts, Brian and Katie, made the stay a great success. The lodges were beyond our expectations. They were spacious, comfortable with great dinning and cooking facilities. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and en suites.
We had a barbecue at the property for 60-70 people. Katie and Brian were very helpful in assisting with its organisation.
The lodges are set in a large beautiful garden near the Kenai River with towering mountains on both sides. There is a fire pit, several barbecues and outdoor settings. One of the lodges has a billiard table, hot tube and sauna.
This lodge was a great success both as a place to stay and for a family reunion - we are scattered all over the globe and are not all together often
Thank you Katie and Brian

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but the large lodge has most of the cooking and dinning facilities
