“The Best of the Princess Lodges- Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

Our favorite lodge in Alaska. Beautiful, private, quiet well kept property. Rooms were large, clean, comfortable and had separate living area with glass front wood stove and porch. Precut wood is stacked nearby with some ready in your room- Very nice. We stayed several nights and loved every minute. Property has river walk for enjoying the gorgeous scenery and turquoise river views. Beautiful deck. Gorgeous grounds. Staff were wonderful, helpful and very friendly. WiFi available in lodge only but that wasn't a problem for us. There is complimentary on demand shuttle for transporting guests to and from their rooms and the main lodge. Clean guest laundry facilities. Staff shared suggestions for hikes on and off the property to do on our own. The restaurant was fantastic. This restaurant and the King Salmon in Denali was the very best we had on the entire vacation (including the cruise to Vancouver). Expensive at both but included in our package. The Kenai area was our favorite and worth a longer stay next time we're in Alaska.

Room Tip: Request close to lodge room for those with limited mobility. Some rooms require a short albeit steep...

My sister and I stayed at this lodge 1 night on our way back from Seward to Anchorage. Wish we had time to stay longer. The room was really like a small cabin. Two beds, TV, wood stove deck with tables and chairs to admire the wilderness. For me, this was the best of the Princess lodges in Alaska. The lodge building had a nice sitting area overlooking the river valley and mountains. We didn't eat in the restaurant, so don't know about that, but everything else seemed really nice. The trails are easy, but it was wet/rainy so we didn't do them all. Lots of fishermen using this lodge as it was salmon season.

Room Tip: Wifi in the lodge was good. It seemed that most or all of the rooms had decks that looked towards th...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Kenai lodge. We appreciated the coffee/tea supplies in the room, it was nice to have a cup and sit on the porch area. The rooms are spacious and cozy, you feel like you have your own little cabin surrounded by beautiful scenery. They also had a nice laundry area for catching up on laundry while on our land/cruise tour with Princess. My husband was able to enjoy a nice fishing trip and we enjoyed the scenic float ride down the beautiful Kenai River. Princess did a great job of moving us along from place to place on our land tour and we enjoyed all of their lodges. We found by ending our land tour at the Kenai lodge we were the closest to the cruise ship and were one of the first to arrive at the ship.

Room Tip: wifi available at main lodge along with the dining areas.

This is the most quaint, relaxing and quiet of the 4 Princess lodges we stayed at. Located in a wooded area along the Kenai river, the lodging is unique. The rooms have tall ceilings and exposed beams along with a working wood stove. Yes, you build your own fire if you want. There are two sections of lodges, 1-7 and 8-15. We stayed in building 11 which was a hike from the main lodge but a nice hike. There was no view from our room as it looked into the woods. If you want a view, I suggest building 8 or 9. The laundry facility is located between buildings 4 & 5, which wasn't near us but with a suitcase on wheels it was no problem. There is a shuttle that will transport you if you need it. Unlike the other lodges, you must call for this shuttle. It's a smaller resort so there isn't a shuttle continually driving around. There is a path to the river to three observation decks. Make sure you don't miss this. If you walk down, there is a phone at the bottom to call the shuttle if you don't want to walk back up. It's steep! There are walking sticks for you to use by the path entrance near the main lodge. This was my favorite lodge because of the location. True Alaska, not touristy!

Room Tip: Building 8 or 9 should give you a view of the mountains across the river. Building 11 does not! All...

Spent one night at this lodge with a tour. Arrived in a downpour of rain on a very cool July evening. When we walked into our room I felt like I was in mountain lodge. . The room was spacious and well decorated. Everything was clean comfortable and up to date. The best party was the small wood burning fireplace in corner. We lit the fire which was nice on cool damp night. If the weather had been nice we would have sat outside on covered deck. Dinner in bar was very good and wait staff friendly and attentive. Definitely would recommend this lodge.

We recently spent two nights at this beautiful facility, set in the wilds of the Kenai Peninsula. Our first clue that this was not going to be a run-of-the-mill lodge was when the General Manager came aboad the tour bus to greet us, as soon as we pulled up. This was a very nice touch, and I might say, a totally different approach than any of the three other Princess lodges where we had stayed. The manager made you feel genuinely appreciated, and pledged his efforts to make our stay a good one. This is not a large place, and in fact, the rooms are located upslope from the lodge itself. There is a shuttle on demand for those guests who don't desire to make the climb, or have physical disabilities. Personnel were friendly and accomodating, as often the manager's own style seems to cultivate. The view from most of the rooms, and from the lodge itself (especially the deck) are spectacular. Wildlife frequents the grounds. There is a nice walking trail down to the river below the lodge. The restaurant was very nice, and the food quite good. Of the four Princess lodges on our week-long trip, this is one that we would definitely come back to. The setting and atmosphere are excellent, the rooms and service personnel are absolutely top notch. We loved our stay!

Room Tip: For older or physically impaired guests, asking for a room on the lower tier of buildings would be a...

We stayed here as part of our land/ sea princess tour on July 7,8, 2014. I liked it the best of all the places we stayed. All the cabins had porches and fireplaces in the rooms. Very spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our cabin was very secluded with a view of the mountains that was breathtaking.
Nice trails for hiking on the property. The resturants had great views and the food was excellent.
There was no wi-fi access in the room, but in the main lodge it was available.

Room Tip: If handicapped, ask for a room near the lodge. They did have a few available with ramps.
