The owners, Kylie and Marshall are a great couple and full of knowledge and helpful suggestions for your stay on Rarotonga.
The cabins are basic but have all you need to self-cater. They are very clean and comfortable and the windows are screened so I didn't notice that much problem with insects/mosquitos (which I heard people staying at other resorts complaining about). The garden-setting is attractive and well-maintained and there is an in-ground pool, however, with such beautiful beaches I failed to use it.
There is no TV in the cabins but there is a communal TV Room/Library ... solo travellers may also want to stock up a computer for night-time viewing as I did. Internet on the Cooks is not cheap - about $NZ50 for 1.2gigs. Ariana has an internet hotspot but you need to buy the voucher from Bluesky to connect.
At about 3 kms from town I'd say a car or scooter would be fairly essential for getting around, especially at night. The bus to town stops close by but it's $NZ 4 each way. I hired a bicycle from one of the local companies for the duration so had no issues during the day. Super Brown, a small supermarket about 200m from Ariana is open 24/7 so good for those who want to self-cater.
Overall, as a budget option on Rarotonga, I'd recommend it as a safe, clean and comfortable place to stay.

I stayed with my two Daughters in adjoining Bungalows and although its not on the beach, Arianna's a really good place for a self catering holiday, with a small store just down the road. The Bungalows are really clean and the pool is excellent there is a games room with books and a TV if needed. The managers are a nice couple and helped us book tours and gave my Daughters a few lifts into Town to the markets.

My elderly mother and myself went to Rarotonga for a holiday over Christmas. Ariana's was able to offer us a transfer from the airport to their wonderful Bungalow's.
Mum loved the fact that there was so much fruit( banana, pawpaw, lychee, passionfruit, avocado) available to be eaten at no charge. She brought her Ninja blender along and we had fruit smoothies every morning for breakfast.. Kitchen was well stocked for a self catering holiday. While it is not on the beach , it has an excellent swimming pool. We also explored the island by bus an could easily find a safe beach to swim at. The manager's Kylie and marshal were so helpful and gave us a free lift to town for the markets on the Saturday. These were great to visit also.
We would thoroughly recommend Ariana Garden Bungalow's to the budget conscious tourist who wants an exciting or relaxing holiday in Rarotonga.

Room tip: We had the front Bungalow that had a beautiful frangipani tree to admire from the verandah.

Have previously stayed at a couple of resorts on the Island but this time went for a self-contained less expensive option and discovered Ariana Bungalows, Kylie and Marshall's little piece of paradise. They are a great couple, laid-back, but hard working at providing guests with a great experience. From pickup at the airport to supplies of fresh coconut pawpaw and banana, to advise on where to eat and attractions, couldn't ask for better.
The bungalows are simple with lounge/well-equipped kitchen, separate bathroom with shower, separate bedroom. The bedroom and lounge have pedastle fans but not really needed as even though temps were in the high 20s all doors and windows are fly-screened so able to get the natural cooling breeze without any Mozzetta issues. (Also had two resident geckos to help with insect control). Chickens and their chicks and rooster "Teenager" a couple of cats, and "Taxi" the house dog completed the menagerie and added to the entertainment. Sparkling pool great communal BBQ and location close to a 24 hr mini-mart/gas station were well utilized.
Overall a great choice for our first taste of private accommodation but certainly won't be our last visit - WE WILL BE BACK
