Owner description: Girdwood ATV Tour There are no road signs marking the entrance to this part of the Chugach State Park. Most locals don’t even know about this wild scenic area. Adventure seekers do not need to travel many miles out of town searching for a true Alaskan backcountry riding experience. Alaska ATV Adventures focuses on small groups, providing excellent wildlife viewing and unrivaled scenery accompanying a ride specifically tailored to the group. This awesome trail winds through the northern reaches of the Pacific Coastal Temperate Rainforest about ½ way between Anchorage and Girdwood. The Girdwood 3-hour tour includes a hike downhill to spectacular waterfall where salmon come to spawn mid-June through September; during this time there is a very good chance of seeing bears from the overlook and high alpine meadows. Tours Depart Daily: 10:00AM April 23rd - May 24th, 2017 10:00AM and 2:00PM May 25th - September 30th, 2017

We did the ATV adventure in June 2012. We went on the Bird Creek Trail adventure. It was fun and exciting from the start. The guide gave us good instruction at the beginning since we had never riden ATV's before. We had a great ride out to the falls. We hiked the falls which was awesome. The views from the falls hike and the other stop in which we viewed Bird Creek was breathtaking. Our guide took a lot of pictures of our family using our camera. He took us through a huge mud puddle and took pictures of each of us as we went through it. He continually looked for bears as we stopped at certain places but unfortunately we didn't get to see any on the trip. We were a family of 4 with two teenagers. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The kids loved it.

We did a 3 hour tour that was absolutely amazing. It was incredible to be outside and ride. You even get to do a hike to a lovely waterfall. Thanks for a perfect day!

This was an awesome gig with my grandsons. It was a challenging day, but the pictures and memories we still talk about. I am 68 and you can do it too. You will need a great pair of boots or rain suit. It is a 25 mile ride via 4 wheel to the glacier. The company does a great job with safety, stops, photo opportunity and the adult guides. No high school kids doing this gig the last two times. At the foot of the glacier we had a great meal over the fire. Make sure you caution your kids about their speed and safety. If you like adventure, great time with your kids, this is it. Book ahead and do some physical exercise and you can do it....great gig ....

8 of us went 4 wheeling with Tim. There were 5 adults and 3-20somethings. 3 of us had no experience and "K" was VERY nervous. Tim was so caring and informative in his explaining how to operate the ATV. The "K" said it was one of the funnist things she's everdone and is ready to go again.

We saw wildlife, hiked down to Bird Creek and had many photo opportunities.
Thanks Tim!

This was so much fun. We did the 5:30 pm ride with meal. It was gorgeous scenery and we had sooo much fun. There was one small problem, they over sold the amount of ATV's available and some people had to ride double in larger vehicles. So get there early and sit on an ATV immediately when you are taken out to the area.

We will do this again on our next Alaska trip.
