This was one of the nicest places we stayed at during our travels through Alaska. We were in the Kenai unit and after having stayed in a very small room the previous nights at a different location we really enjoyed all the space. It's good to have a kitchen even though we only used it for making tea and coffee in the evening. Everything was very clean and we felt comfortable right away. Shoman is a great hostess and very welcoming.
Being on holidays the only thing we missed was breakfast but we were informed of this ahead of time so it wasn't a problem. There was a bakery nearby ('The Bake Shop, walking distance: 10 minutes) which served good breakfast.
Girdwood is great for hiking and you can start straight from the house without having to drive to a trailhead first. We can only recommend staying at this lovely B&B.
