A sure way to see all the major wild animals of Alaska, including grizzly bears, caribou, moose, elk, bison, lynx, and so on. They are in large, outdoor enclosures, so it is not at all like a zoo. There also is a gift shop and a small cafe (overpriced). While it is better to see these animals in the wild, you probably will never get as close to them as you can here.

Lots of different animals, bison, deer, etc, but everyone wants to see the bears. We did see three of them on a walkway above but they were sleeping. This is very close to Portage Glacier as well.

Highly recommend making thus a destination stop. Loved walking around seeing native animals up close! Great place to take the kids. All the animals were abandoned or injured. Easy to see how well the animals are loved and well cared for. Rare opportunity to see wild animals.

Like a drive-through zoo filled with orphaned animals. Great for kids. Cafe shuts down early when staff feels unmotivated to stay open.

We had a tour planned and it ended up raging so we stopped here. Even in the rain it was a great time. You can walk it or drive it. We walked it. There is plenty of room for the animals. Didn't have a zoo feel. They look happy and taken care of. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
