“Great experience, satisfactory food”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

This is not to be missed, but it is the complete experience that makes it a winner...not just the food on your plate (which is good, but not amazing in and of itself). Taking a tram to dinner, awesome. Sitting atop the mountain and (hopefully) getting great views, amazing. The food is high end cuisine. With that in mind, some of our low end meals in Alaska at places completely off the beaten path were better, but everyone in our party enjoyed their meals here. I think that people rate the food very highly because there really just isn't a better game in town...or at least near by. Enjoy it for what it is, and focus on the bigger picture and you will be fine.

“Seven Glaciers Restaurant”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

This place is rated extremely well by tourists who visit the area. The food is average, nothing special, and extremely pricey. We went twice while living in the area, both times it was just average, and a nice way to break a 100 bill. I think people get caught up in the lift ride up and down.

“The best food we had in Alaska-”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Dining at the 7 Glaciers Restaurant was FABULOUS and is one of our best memories-we will never forget the experience.

The tram ride to the top of the mountain is included with dinner reservations. Breathtaking views from the top- We had the scallop bisque, Alaskan King Crab Legs, and Salmon-- all very well presented. The chocolate mousse for dessert was INCREDIBLE!!

Thank you- this dining experience topped off the trip of a lifetime.

“Not Impressed”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We had high expectations for this restaurant but the food was for the most part mediocre. The bisque was delicious and so we had grand expectations for the entrees but the halibut was dry and forgettable. The Crispy Chicken was awful. There was one tiny drumstick and a square patty of dry white meat that I assume was chicken.

We also had a problem getting seated. We had reservations and arrived 10 minutes early and were offered a table in the middle of the room. We asked for a particular table by the window (that was empty but set up for two). We asked if it could be set up for our party of four. We were told to wait in bar for a window table. Thirty minutes later we were escorted to the table we had asked about. The restaurant did not feel so busy that it would have taken that long to change out the table.

“Great View and Food”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

My wife and I just happened into the Alyeska Resort in early September on our last day in Alaska on our way to Anchorage to catch a red eye home. We saw a sign about eating at the top of the gondola so we checked and found that the Seven Glaciers could take us and that the gondola ride was included if you had a reservation. The restaurant has a number of great views. We happened to be on the side away from the glaciers, but still had a great view down to Turnagain Arm. We opted for a number of small plates, which were all outstanding. The scallop bisque was very good even if it only had one scallop. The King Crab cakes were some of the best I had in Alaska, definitely full of crab. We then had salads, which were interesting and very good, followed by the daily risotto (mushroom) for our final plate. The risotto was outstanding with the mushrooms giving it a meaty feel. We tried the beignets for dessert and felt they were better than the Café du Monde. With coffee and one glass of wine (they have an outstanding wine list), the bill was just under $100 before the tip. Not too bad for the experience, but if you had a true main course, the bill would be substantially more.
