“A great way to spend the morning and discover the North”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

Our visit to this raptor sanctuary was an unexpected delight. Volunteers and staff were very welcoming and informative. The raptors are clearly well cared for and treated with respect and kindness. The exhibit is informative and accessible. We met Hans the Owl and Sarah the Owl and Zilla the Falcon. Awesome to see these incredible creatures up close. Too bad you can't pet them! ;) One great room was the fauna of Alaska exhibit featuring animals from land, sea and air. The teens loved it. Amazing to see all the creatures of the North gathered in one room. I didn't know we had a shark in the North!!! A great way to spend a rainy morning and the price is right at $12 entry fee. Keep up the great work Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation.

“Impressive”

So impressive! I have always been interested in the American Bald Eagle, thank you Elizabeth Hartwell of Mason Neck, VA. There are many sites in Haines to visit. You MUST see this museum.

“Great place to see live raptors!”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

We have been to the center twice now. Both teens much enjoyed the live owls and hawks. The folks are eager to answer questions. We also enjoyed the room where it was okay to touch bones, horns, and fur of local species. The price was a bit hefty for a family of 4 at $40, but it goes to a good cause.

“less than exciting”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

If you have not seen eagles yet, go here. Otherwise, they are more awesome in the wild. They feed the captive eagles at 2:30, but the presentation was poor and eagles not totally cooperative.

“Modest but interesting”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

We got to see a live owl and falcon as well as two bald eagles. This place is small but the guides enthusiastic. It (and most of the town) is within easy walking distance of the port. We were glad to get out and do the local thing, and have coffee at a 'drive-in' coffee place with picnic tables down the street. Note that you will see eagles flying overhead in the town of Haines..
